Is something behind me on fire(bird)?

Hop in the sy for a nice afternoon cruise to the bank to make loan payment. :( I live in a pretty secluded area, so races are few and far between. I pull out of my road, jamming to some Tom Petty, when, coming out of another road close to mine, is a nice looking firebird ram air, guessing 99 or 2000. I imediatley notice the "open headers" sound and guage pod as he eyes up my truck. He pulls out and follows me. WE go a good 10 miles up the country "main roads" where i live. We both make a right onto rt97 north heading to Westminster. I give him a little taste of borla and blow off, and hes right on my ass, sounding like the local drags on friday night.
We were forced to slow for a UPS truck making a turn, when the road clears, i mash it. We were at about 40, and the truck doesnt kick down most of the time, so i was in D and thats where she stay'd. The Firebird went sideways and was on my ass like flys on sh*t! Im impressed. We come up on the first main stop light goin into town, and, WOHOO, the light turns red. Unfortunatley its one lane. I hear the firebird loping away behind me. Sounds awsome! I build about 2 lbs as i hear him reving up, the lights green, and so is his face when i let off at 80 mph. He was about 7 cars back, still fishtailing when i let out!
He comes up next to me at the next light where its two lanes and yells "That thing runs good!" I just reply "so does yours!" He says to me " i cant hook up, but you hook up awsome!" I said "AWD helps!" He asks what kind of et's, i said i dont know, but should be somewhere in the 11's on pump gas. He gives me one more thumbs up, revs and dumps it, tires smoking as he pulls away on a right turn off ramp. That car sounded awsome, i knew it wasnt "stock". I suddenly felt much better about making that payment at the bank! :D
To make it even better, i tell my dad. He knows the guy, and knows of the car. He says, "yea, that car belongs to *, and Billy (good family friend/runs trans shop) said that car is built to the hilt." Vortec Blower, cam, heads, etc."
I get a phone call from a buddy of mine who works at EIP tuning, a mostly import hot rod shop in Westminster. He says a guy came in to the shop in a supercharged firebird asking about this "black pickup" that left him sitting at the stop light! I am definatley looking forward to running into this guy again, wanna see just what he has, and maybe get a side by side run.
It is so great to own a Sy!

Nice kill! He must have been packing some serious hardware to hang with the "Super Syclone" he he. I played with a Viper GTS in traffic yesterday -we both wanted to go but there were too many road plugs in front of us. To make matters worse, some guy in a new BMW M5 is all over my ass at lunch today and I wanted to wax him good. We never could get out of traffic :( That's what sucks about living in this area. Wish I had those nice open country roads :D
