Is This Prop. Noise??

I took about a 600mi trip yesterday. Ran great! Anyway, on the way home I stopped for gas and when I pulled out of the station I jumped on it a little. To my surprise, when it hit second, it blew the tires. Never did that before. Shortly after I started hearing a noise that sounded like a leaf stuck in the heater blower motor. That's not what it is though. It speeds up and slowns down with vehicle speed. Is that the front prop shaft? It sounds like it's from that general area.

If the rear tires smoked up on second gear, then yeah most likely, something happened to the propshaft. Have you gone under the truck to take a look yet? You would have known it for sure if the propshaft had broken, unless you have a loop on it, but even then would have noticed it. It is sounds like that something in the front CV joint broke loose without coming out of the outer cylinder. Possibly could have worn out the inner part of the casing. Lets hope that is what it is. On a worse case, something could have broken in the front differential but I would think that would cause alot more noise that just that of a leaf in the blower. Hope you figure it out.

I just move it around a little yesterday to get ready for the Walbo install and when I back it up the driveway I heard a more familiar u-joint squeek type noise. I checked the shaft and it looks normal. I'll pick up the sockets today and yank it tonight. If I can't find anyhting with it I'll take it for ride with the shaft off and see what happens.
