That's awesome... I hope Jamie can come in here and fill in the details. I'd love to see the incrimentals on the 9.1 run...

Re: jhacking first real pass

1/8th mile to 1/4 on a syty is about equal if you multiply 1.58 on a stockish truck, 1.56-1.57 on a highly modded truck.

So he is for sure mid 9's, with a better 60 ft, .2 sec there = .4 at end, could be a low 9 as it sits.

Glad to see you making progress forward. Its amazing what it takes to work out all the bugs on these trucks after extensive mods like you have done.

I hear rumor Robert might come over next year to US, wonder if we can setup a good match race.
Dude WTF. That makes no sense. Anyway, I was @ a 275 STOCK suspension race meeeting this weekend so Friday I made 3 hits. And have been fighting a problem with the AMS. I replced all the solenoids before first round and it fixed one problem only to find ANother. I plan on going to another 275 race next weekend, but as mike stated I'm very busy helping with my newborn girl.

Re: jhacking first real pass

With all these great times coming out , maybe the sled needs to get a new setup too Mike .Just sayin ....

i actually dusted the sled off tonight.. looked at the 18 deg motor i have on the stand for it, then looked at the 8 other SYTY's in the shop and lost hope :-(

no time for my own stuff.. maybe one of these days.. I better hurry up though cause sooner then later all these low 8 sec trucks will be running 7s...

Re: jhacking first real pass

So how many passes would you say you've got on the truck since the build. I'm impressed with how fast you got the times down....

That is just nuts Jamie. That truck is going to be a beast when you make a full pass. I am glad you worked out all the problems that you were have at the nats. Hell you and Arron need to have a grude match with his drag car aganist your sy. That would be an awesome race.

Congrats. I know it has a lot left in it hopefully you can click off an 8.5's or even faster.

Re: jhacking first real pass

Well made some more passes tonight.got it to go some what go straight. spun past the 60ft,. I have a problem with my locker in the front since i only get it to spin just the rears on a burn out. 1.92 60ft 6.07@126mph this thing is a pain in my ass ;)

You need to take that locker out of the front diff. Those tires will pull you side to side with a locker. It needs to have slip. I have seen other guys with the same problems --- remove locker and problem gone.

As stated remove that locker in the front before you wreck your truck or yourself. Great power, but you might consider a fast spool setup for building boost off the line.

I am pretty sure he went RWD if you go back and look at the pic of the burn out on page 5.

I thought he was just running rwd, but still had the diff and t-case in the truck.

Fast spool setup consist of a wastegate without a spring (or very weak spring) mounted on an intake pipe or manifold allowing the turbo to spool freely since it is wide open and then you have a CO2 or equivalent pressure source that shuts the wastegate when you are ready to leave the line.

There are many different flavors and setups for doing this, but the above is a basic example.

Concerns of doing this consist of over spinning the turbo and the shock load placed on the turbo when you close the wastegate, but regardless it does work quite well.
