Killed a Neon today

A neon, WTF? Guess they don't remember Syclone's at my local track, when I roll up next to a Cobra they hold me back and make me wait to line up next to a Neon. No big deal I guess, It was my first run with everything back together and I was taking it super easy anyway, launched with 3lbs, only ran 9lbs of boost and let out of it halfway to run a leisurely 8.1 @ 84mph 1/8. I had gone out early as soon as I got off work to get a few runs in before it got dark (my tailights don't work when I turn my running lights or headlights on right now) so I jump back in line and end up next to a Z06 with a cold air induction kit. He said he runs high 11's to low 12's and has a hard time with consistency so I figured it'd be a good race as I was only planning on running 15lbs of boost the next run. I run up and told the guy lining cars up to let us run against each other and he agreed. Then I sat and waited. And waited some more. Not sure what was going on but we didn't move for an hour, and just as we get up to the burnout box the announcer calls out that from that moment on all runs will need to be with lights.

Crap. There I am, all excited to be running a Z06 (He noticed we had the same brakes :) ) and then I have to back out again. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the lighitng situation figured out.

At least I got to kill a Supra and a 300zx turbo on the way home to make myself feel better. The 300zx driver mouthed Holy Shite after we were done and gave me a thumbs up, that always puts a smile on my face :D

That's what happened in my pants when I first went for a ride in your Sy.

You've got a low 11's/high 10's street terror Syclone. Not much, if anything, is going to be able to hang with you on the streets of Portland or Seattle. :cool:

The Neon? I was just joking about that, I could have jogged down the track and killed it and I'm not exactly in great shape. It wasn't even one of those srt4's. I don't have Syclone stickers on my truck right now so I think guy pairing cars up thought I had a regular s10 and tried to find someone closer to my speed than the Cobra.

As far as I'm concerned: 12 second cars fun to whup. 11 second cars fun to race. 10 second cars fun to get my ass handed to me buy. 15 second cars...can't even see them during the race.

Next time they line me up against someone like that I'm going to just give them a big 3-4 second head start and try to run them down to keep it interesting. I'm going to go out again today, I should get at least one run in, and a lot more if I can get the tailight problem solved.

You guys ever do that to keep it interesting, I guess bracket racing style, give the other guy a big head start and see if you can catch him by the end of the run?
