Looking for an engine builder on canada

greetings,
it's been a while since I posted and I have some bad news about my ty. I had my motor taken out to have it rebuild after I blew a piston.The garage i was refered to was supposed to be reputable, but low and behold to my surprise they disappeared along with my engine. They have been around for about 6 years and have worked on a lot of gn's, corvettes etc. Now they are gone ,I don't know where either and I haven't had any luck tracking them down, as i want my engine back. I am out an engine .Everything from the block, heads, exhuast manifolds and turbo is gone.I am so p***ed off.If anyone out there knows of an engine that someone is trying to onload , let me know, it might be mine. If any of you know of anyone who builds these engines again let me know.My truck is a giant brick taking up space in my driveway.I need a motor for it.I prefer to get one put together up here in canada, but if all else fails I am willing to go to the states. I also heard rockford racecraft is a good source but not Mccoy motorsprt. Any opinions let me knoe

Dude yer in a rough spot. You'll have a tough time finding stuff up here. If your motor is gone for sure, I'd drop a 350 in it and move on.

The exhaust manifolds and intake can be found the only pricy part is the intake. Motor is easy to I will have a core out of my wifes truck in a month.

So do not worry you are not stuck. There are many options.

Nolan, actually that sounds good. I have heard a lot of good things about you when it comes to sy /ty's.Your out in Edmonton , right?
Well , I say, let's get the ball rolling .I will go take a look and see what I still have in the back of the truck. Actually , I was lucky enough that I got my truck back.That almost disappeared as well.Other than that what is my first step to gettnig the ball rolling.

There has to be some way of tracking these guys down to get your motor back. Local motor builder here in Grimsby just had his building burn to the ground this week, I`m yet to hear who lost there engines in the fire.I know how your feeling, I had a complete 396 big block stolen from my Fathers garage. You will have to get your TY back together so we can have a southern Ontario meet.

Start by calling the cops. File a police report stating that the owner bailed with your engine. The business had to be registered in someone's name, so if they just up and disappeared there's still going to be a way to find out who owned the place.

That does suck though. You may not get your motor back, but at least report it so the dirtbag can't start doing this somewhere else. With the price of parts for these trucks, it's not chump change so hopefully the cops won't ignore your complaint.

Yep let me know what you have for parts I do have a ton of extra syty parts.

We might even be able to build you a complete motor dressed head to toe.
Then just ship it to you.

Well , thanks for the info guys.I am gonna file a report with the police .Maybe I will get something out of it,doubt it though.
The other day I took a look in the bakc of the truck.There is a lot of stuff bakc there ,I am will have to take everything out and catagorize it, so I know where I stand .i might evan take some pics and post them to nolan, as some of the parts,well, I am not sure what they are.

Sorry to here about the engine what was the shops name, and I guess they were located in Toronto?? Had a suggestion, but dont know how much money you were planning on spendin on the build. But, why not get a 4.3 from a wrecker out of a astro/sonoma(whatever) for cheap and build that. Then you would buy your pistons, rods, reuse the crank, get vortec heads, look for a set of used ATR headers, then all you would really need would be the stock upper and lower intakes?? I think this would be more cost effective depending on what your goals were?? Fern Sy#477

Your right Fern about doing it that way. Only thing is...I an gonna need someone to put the whole thing together for me.Didn't you build your own truck....?/
By the way....Greece's win was a 100 to 1 longshot.If i had only bet on this one.....Think of all the sy's and ty's I could have bopught...

Ya trucks on the road, H20 injection is all working, and alls good. My old man has a really close friend that into racing. He builds all his own dragcar, ect. When I was going to build last year he was the first person I talked to. He said he gets all his work done at a place called The Balancing Act, I think there in St. Chatherines, Ill have to find out. But when I buoild Ill be dealing with them for all the machine work. Let me know if your interested

finally getting around to buying parts

Well gang,
I finally cleaned out most of the garage and will be in the process of catalogging all the parts i have left in the back of the ty since the engine was stolen.I actually have bought an upper/lower intake as a start.As I here these are very hard to come by. Once I figure out what i have in the truck I will post and then you guys could tell me what i need next , to put a new motor together for my truck.
Any suggestions are appreciated...
