How did you adjust the cable? The correct method or the "make it shift hard" method? Don't read any sarcasm into that. This gets done often and usually ends up burning up a trans. The correct method is posted alot but you basically turn off the engine, push in the button on the adjuster, shove the slider all the way in, then rotate the throttle to WO and let it ratchet out. Drive at minimum throttle. 1-2 at 11mph to 16 mph, your 3-4 should happen right around 44mph.
Let me know if you want any more help.

You're not going to take it to the one that worked on it before are you? I would recommend Charlies transmission on 11th street. See ya.

I just looked down the postings and noticed that you have many posts concerning problems that very well may be related to your trans. Didn't realize it had already been worked on before as well. I hope they take good care of you whoever does it. TC may be a problem on yours secondary to the TCC solenoid. If this is the case you'll have some crud in the pan. These little bits can make it all through the tranny(valves and such get stuck or hang). Don't be surprised if he wants to take it out and go through it himself. Also check to see what kind of warranty he has. If he knows your dad he should have some kind of good deal for you.
Good luck,
Blake

well found out why my trans has been having trouble before and even after my rebuild...........its because its a trans to a regular s-10 blazer.........that F#@&*$%# trans shop rebuilt it to a regular s-10 blazer build.........and they were highly reccomended by some of the racers i know.........so i have ordered a GM one for my truck......and will make sure its the right trans when it comes in.........ill keep everyone posted.........

If you've got an aftermarket 2-4 servo installed, make sure there is a lot of clearance between its cover and the trans tunnel. When the driveline torques over, any interference can mash the servo rod into the 2-4 band inside the trans, can dent the dimple in the band, resulting in huge clearances. Mine did this - 2nd was fine, when came time for 4th, felt like it was going into neutral; revs go up, vehicle slows down. MIGged a blob on the servo rod where it contacts the band, got back the 1/16" or so clearance (it was 3/8"+) on the cover. Accessed the servo via a hole cut in the tunnel on the passenger's side, replaced spaced out 1/2" for clearance. Problem solved.

BTW, also easy to access the Sy fuel tank fittings via a hole in the bed if you don't mind doing it. Tank R&R is pretty easy then.

FWIW, YMMV, etc - Barry
