Well I am trying to get datamaster to work but I can't select a com port, I am not sure what to do. I have the cable hooked up to truck and hooked to serial port on computer. Now I have never used this computer to hook up to a truck so maybe I have a problem with comp?

Next I am completely confused on hooking the wb up to the stock computer. I have an old fjo wb(cwc0002) and according to the diagram that came with it there is a red wire for analog output and a green wire for analog ground. I am kindof assuming these are the 2 wires I hook to the computer? I have the computer side all ready to go just want to make sure these are the correct wb wires before I connect it all.
Now after that is done I need to use one of those bin patchers?
I know what a bin is but other than that I am clueless so any help would be great.

Then the last thing for now is how to I get the ostrich started? I put the cd in and I downloaded the drivers but other than that I don't know what the next step is to getting it working.
I am assuming I need to have some bins on that computer also to load into the ostrich right? I have all my bins on the hime computer but will put some on the laptop soon.

Sorry for all the newbie questions its amazing how much you forget when you don't do something for such a long time

if your familar with computers you can go to "device manager" and click on the com ports. then if you unplug and then plug the serial cable back in you should see what com port, your computer uses the serial cable under. something like COM1. if you right click and go under properties and then click under advanced and look around a little bit, you can accually force the the computer to switch it to a com port you have available in datamaster.

sometimes you have to plug and unplug the cable a few times to get it to read. if you play around with it alittle bit youll be able to figure it out. i just literally went through this a couple days ago.

on the syty ecm there is a purple wire in the yellow connector (not quite sure on the color) just double check it)and, i wanna say its the "E14" wire/pin. that is the stock narrowband wire. im not quite sure on how to wire that wbo2 controller up? somebody will probably be able to chime in and say something. but it that was a plx one i would be able to tell ya..

Dig has a patch so you and see you wideband "number/ratio" in datmaster. you can get that at his site.

as for hooking up ostrich..well i havent even put mine in yet  i imagine youll have to get a G1 adaptor from moates and get the ribbon cable from the ecm to the ostrich unit itself. after that i have no idea..again someone will be able to chime in there.

good luck

F14 and B9 are the pins you need to run the wires to. If you want tomorrow I can give you an overview of everything
