Low Buck Initial Boost Mod?

AutoSpeed: "If you want an even higher initial peak boost value, simply T into the wastegate line a small sealed volume, such as a small aerosol can or the pictured camping water container. This will allow boost to flare a bit, as the can needs to fill with pressurised air before the wastegate starts to move. This can be a surprisingly effective modification - on one Charade Turbo, fitting just the over-boost can was enough to give wheelspin on every full throttle first-second gear change!"

Like a stock waste gaited syty doesnt have enough over boost/boost control probs to begin with without something like that.... :p :)

like on a 2 cycle (banshee quads) they have this boost bottle also its supposed to help a whole bunch with initial throttle response

the way it works on a quad to my understanding is right when you crack the throttle it takes a split second to get the air from the air box through the air filter through the carb and into the motor, this canister sitts about the head after the carb so you open the throttle and BAM theres some air right there ready to go. so on a turbo app lets say you lift becaue you get a little squirrly and then right back on it well if you odnt have a BOV then the air is turned around and being sent back out he compressor and it takes a sec to get that air back goin the right way well with this bottle there is air right there so no more lag or anyting. I could be wrong though

I don't know about quads, but in the first post the bottle is in the wastegate line. It's not affecting the intake air at all, just how the wastegate performs.

This will allow boost to flare a bit, as the can needs to fill with pressurised air before the wastegate starts to move.

...even higher initial peak boost...

ok ok I mis read. so never mind. but why would they do that an electronic boost controller could do almost the same thing by controlling the when the wastegate opens and waiting to open till the last sec I think on the inovative its called ramp up or something with the word ramp in it.

I still think my explanation would work though :D
