LS1 Brake questions

My friend just blew his rear to hell in his 00 camaro and he is ordering a 12 bolt ..he said I could have the rear and brakes I was just wondering what all I needed to install the disc brakes on the rear of my TY?

8 bolts, 2 backing plates, two rotors, two calipers, 4 pads.

I guess they really aren't backing plates - but it is the part with the parking brake that bolts to the backing plate.

Ok...do you think that plate will be on there when he takes it off? hes getting the 12bolt with brakes already installed.

Yes - it will be there. When you take it apart anything that comes off with the four bolts is what you want.

Find out if he has 2 or 3 channel ABS , the mounting plates are different.

The Tys all had the 4 bolt backing plate. The Sy used 3 bolts. No?

Yep you have to drill a hole on the syclone.

If your buddy can't or isn't re-using the parking brake cables you might want those too.
