Lvnspeed's Project

wana go 10's
I just bought a 1993 Black on Black Typhoon #1867 Oh yea it has 93xxx miles on it.

Here is a little back history on me. I have been messing with fast cars, boat, motorcycles, and PWCs for years. I am no noob to wrenching. I have just never owned a Typhoon so I will have a ton of questions I am sure. I know how to ues the seach button . I have been doing a ton of reading on this site I am pumped up to get my Typhoon running some real numbers......

I went to the track last night and ran the truck to get some baseline numbers.
14.08,14.10, 14.25 and a 15.89. Think something happened on the last run the truck woulnt make any boost when I was driving home from the track. It was hot and muggy last night but low 14's with nothing done to the tuck I mean nothing all I did was but 5 galons a 93 in it.

Now its time ot start modding the truck. Tryng to get it to run low 11's high 10's I know thats going to be a lofty goal but I think its do able I know its going to take tons of cash but to go fast it always costs lots of money.

I would post picture of the truck but I not sure how. The truck should be going to get painted soon.

Congrats on your purchase! If you truly want to go 10's, its doable, but care must be taken. The engine building is important, but equally important is the tuning. Decide if you will go with CODE $59or a stand-alone system. Either get to know a good tuner that will tune the Ty for you and go with their recommendations, or learn to tune it yourself.

Good luck!

Trans is another big thing. if regularly beat on stock motor in good running condition will kill a stock trans. Even a fully built 700 can have problems if not put together right.

Do you have any datalogs of what was going on during the passes ? First thing your going to want is a big trans fluid cooler . Heat and the 700r4 are not friends .

And so starts a quest for 10 seconds. I agree on these things the trans cannot be overlooked. Good luck with the build.

Re: Lvnspeed's Project

Well the motor parts are slowly comming together. Still looking for a 4 bolt block and a good crank. The paint work in on the back burner right now I broke my foot so need to heal it up before I can get back to working on the truck
