motor swap!

I'm planning on swapping my motors I have a wrecked ty with a good motor so what exactly do I do that to change motor and tranny? Is it difficult and about how long will it take? :dunno:

how good of a wrench are you ? have you done a engine and transmission swap before ? Do you have a vast variety of hand tools , engine stand, engine host '' cherry picker '' ? If your knowledge is about automotive is crap you see in the movies and do not professionally wrench for a living . your in for a hand full !!

thats a pretty loaded question. Speaking for me personally, length of time depends on who and what I'm doing it for.

If I'm doing it for myself or even someone else and its just going to be a daily driver or sold, I wont cut any corners but I'm not going to go crazy cleaning things up and replacing things just because they are dirty or rusty.

Now on the other hand, if its something I'm looking to keep and/or make better than factory, I'll spend some time redoing (paint, wiring, gaskets, etc.) everything to make it perfect, in which case it could take years as stated earlier :lol:

If you have a Typhoon/Syclone service manual there's a step by step remove and replace section. Sure makes it alot easier, but it could be done in a weekend.

The first time takes probably 3 days. The second time you swap it out easily 2 days. The 3rd time. I'll have to get back to you with the answer. :hissyfit:
