Multiple questions.

Several Questions so i thought lounge would be best. Move if needed.

Ultimate Chip setup. Do I have to run different injectors?
Where can I buy Ultimate at and how much? Only other thing needed is 3 bar map, correct?

After fresh tune up of Plugs, nology wires, conrad cap and rotor, clean fuel filter, and 6 month old oxygen sensor, I am still getting tach flutter. Wires are routed clear of manifolds. Little to no shaft play on distributer.
I am almost ready to live with this until I build a new motor.

Will the stock wastegate handle upgrades like the ultimate? Or do I need to consider a minigate on crossover?

injectors aren't needed with ultimate, as far as I know

did you include a coil in that tune up? coils tend to help cause tach flutter

i do believe many people run the stock gate with the ultimate, even though it sucks at boost control.

stock injectors and actuator will work fine w/ the ultimate. lots of people use that combo. Unless of course you plan on getting an ultimate 50# chip, then you need (1 guess) 50# injectors.

like smaug said, swap in a new coil and see if that solves your problem. Also, test your coil wire and make sure its good. Test the resistance through the wire as compared to your spark plug wires. They should all be similar in readouts, w/ the coil wire being less (shorter length).

What is the benefit of the Ultimate 50 versus a std Ultimate? How much am I pushing my luck with stock injectors? I remember reading in search that people are hitting 100% plus duty cycle with the stockers. At what quarter mile times (Roughly) do the injectors become a liabilty?
Coil is 1 year old MSD unit.

I am thinking the best route is ultimate with one of the minigates on the crossover?

with the ultimate 50 and minigate on crossover and 412 cam i maxed out duty cycles at 140 % running 11.9 with 4k lb truck.

How fast are you going? How fast to you want to go in the end? You need to know what your goals are before you decide what chip/injector combo will work best for you.

Basically anything faster than about a 12.5 is going to be tough for the stock injectors to keep up with. If you go with bigger injectors, you'll need the appropriate chip to go w/ them. Remember also that 50# or better chips are usually more of a baseline tune for you to get up and running. Each truck will react differently to the same mods, and fine tuning is the best way to hit your objectives.

Worth noting that other lighter Syclones have hit 11s on stock injectors. Not something that's *recommended*, but if you know what you are doing (datalogging/tuning) it can be done.

MSD coil = junk IMO. It might not be the cause of your problems, but I had no good luck when I used one, just went through cap & rotors quicker. I ran 11.0 on a stock ignition (not stock OEM components, but no CDI, aftermarket coil etc). Good brass tip cap & rotor, good wires (Taylor) routed away from heat, protected from manifolds, and good plugs gapped at .030-.032 should be all you need (I like NGK TR5/TR6).

I'd do a Walbro fuel pump, and you'd need an adj. FPR for the chip (the calibration was done on 50psi of base fuel pressure for stock injectors; 50lb/hr inj. cal was done at 43psi base).

Best time on first runs at track was 14.7. Overboost because of removed converter.
I would be estatic to be in the 12's. Low 13's would be great.
I will soon have a2a along the lines of Motormouths with the Saab 9000 cooler.

My ET below was run using my Ultimate chip set on T2 20 with stock injectors and stock turbo/wastegate. Boost control in my truck is isn't a flatline but, it never goes more than one psi over or below what I have my chip set on. It hasn't been said yet but, if you have ANY issues with your truck putting the Ultimate chip in WILL make them worse. Putting an Ultimate chip in a truck with ignition issues as well an overboost problem is asking for trouble. Get your problems fixed first. HTH's
