Mustang 4.6 L goes down

I was bored when I got home from work today, so I decided to go out for a little cruise.

I am driving west on Lake St when this mustang pulls up next to me. I look over at him and he looks at me. We both slow down to about 30 then he jumps on the gas. I hit the pedal and am dead even with him up to about 55. Then we had to slow down due to traffic. So we are crusing side buy side, and I am thinking to myself, we need a light. Well, I got my wish. A light just ahead of us goes yellow and we both brake hard to stop.

We look at each over again and Nod. I build boost to around 5-6 psi. Come on light. It goes green and we are off. I pulled real hard on him. I shut the truck down at around 80mph. By that point, I had around 5-6 car's on him.

Good kill. He would have been better off taking the tie and going home. That's about the time the Mustang guy needs to make like he dropped something on the floor and is looking for it when the light changes....

Nice one...... New stangs are beautiful.. Just wish ford woulda put an ENGINE in them.. Seems like CUPHOLDERS were more important than cubic inches.
Hopefully the new Cobra will make some owners proud again to own those cars, anyone of them in stock for upto the '03 Cobras I would be embarrased to own.

I tell ya what, I used to be embarrased for anyone sporting a 4.6L until a few weeks ago I raced a Red GT with "Fast and Furious, pointing man" stickers on the side in Milwaukee. He was nearly dead even with me by the time we reached top end. He said he only had a bigger throttle body, intake and exhaust, gears and some other small shit. The guy knew how to drive his car really well, I was impressed at his launch on street tires on a dusty surface. I used to think the 4.6L was a mid 14 second SLED until I raced this guy. Turns out he runs the same ET I do, 13.0's. So anyways there are some people who can make the 4.6 fast.

The 96-98 4.6's are pretty much pigs, but the 99 and up are much improved. Still not as fast as an F-Body (stock for stock), but not bad. I drove a 99 5-speed not too long ago that is basically stock(filter, off-road exhaust, and shifter) and I'd say that thing had 13's in it easy. With the optional traction control, I think it'd be a great year round daily driver.
