When conversation hits ad hominem and/or stereotypes (US domestic = hillbilly, Honda/Acura = ricer, Supra = dyno queen, exotics = clueless spoiled brats or senior citizens who bought an ornament... you know the drill), it's better to bail out and leave the participants content with their prejudice.
I've owned lots of different cars over the years, anything from limited edition muscle car (and truck

) classics of the past to some 200mph+(++) japanese and european offerings. Some stock, some modified, some scary fast. I like many kinds of cars and truly appreciate them, and I couldn't care less about what kind of a perceived image some people have of their owners. That seems to tick some people off big time and lately I've not even tried to educate them by explaining the reasons behind my point of view.
Enjoying the variety of fast vehicles without staring at what kind of a badge is glued to the trunk lid is IMO what it's all about.
