Re: My Teal/Grey

Ya thats been gone for a while now, shouldn't have sold that one though. How do you keep finding these things like this? I've got a Ty that I'm working on now. I think if I ever want to look for another truck I'm just gonna have you look for me.

Not sure how I got lucky again.

Not many in Tucson but quite a few of us up here, how many with running trucks is a different story.

I've got one of each, running and not running. In typical syty fashion, they're both under the knife. One of them doesn't leak oil, though. Can you guess which one?

I bought my Ty from a member on here and I'm still working through some "issues" that shouldn't have been there when I bought the truck. That's a whole other story though. I ripped out my entire wiring harness to install a FAST engine management system. Realfastv6 has been awesome helping me though. Hoping to have it running by Nov/Dec.

Re: My Teal/Grey

I stopped by the shop today and saw something new... It's coming along nicely. They're going to color sand and buff it tomorrow. With any luck it might be done this weekend, but I'm guessing next week.

You'll notice that the jam sticker is still there. The jams were painted, but he was able to preserve the sticker..!

They're almost done prepping the cladding for paint tomorrow.

They plan to finish color sanding it today and get the cladding installed..! It's getting close..!

I had a set of wheels refinished locally and I picked them up this morning.. They had to order a replacement center cap, that's why there's one missing.

Congratulations on your decision to purchase the Teal. I won't tell my whole story but it's similar to yours. I was looking for a white/grey, closest one was in AZ. Night before I had given up I found a new listing on auto trader for my current truck. It was on the other side of town and priced right, after checking it out the decision was made. I've been daily driving/racing her for 12 years.

I just noticed this picture. Did you paint the headlight buckets/grill black, or is that factory? Mine had the argent grey buckets/grill.

Truck looks like it's coming along nicely. Do you mind me asking how much they are charging you to do the whole job?

Looking forward to seeing it all done.

My grille buckets are that flat black plastic color no paint. Your truck is coming along nice. Let me know if you need the front bumper supports

Thank you. I think the next round of pictures will be of it complete...! The wheels were done like the factory did them.

Is the grill factory or is that something that you did? Mine seems to have come with the Argent buckets/grill.

I'm terrible at PMs. I'll shoot you another.

I'm not positive but I THINK the grilles weren't nothing special except for the grille letters.

I ordered a brand new '92 grille for a T10/T15 in '92 and they just wanted to know what color I wanted it.I said Code 24 and got a new 92 Aspen grille for my '88 X81 code 24. :dunno:

Grille paints we're standard between the Sy/Ty/SGT Sonoma IMO.I might be wrong but I lived it so prolly not.

Hmm. I've been searching for clarification on that. Mine appeared to have been argent from the factory, but my dad had a White/Argent 92 when they were new and his were black. I read somewhere on the forum today that is was a PAS and GM inconsistency.

Re: My Teal/Grey

My teal SoGT grille & headlight buckets look lighter gray than I've normally seen on grilles of that era, but it could be just faded/washed color. Will soon be changed

My grille has been the same sense my ownership. I've looked closely at the paint on the grille and have not seen any evidence that it's not original.

Making quick work, run and get a Goodmark 2" cowl hood before it leaves the paint shop.
