well in my quest to not crack manifolds ever again, and to not have my turbo and radiator interfere with each other....i designed a turbo bracket. I finally mounted it and tested it out, and was pleased to find out that it can easily support the weight of the turbo all by itself

Re: My Turbo Bracket (pics)

its misleading w/o anything around it. Its really only about 4" from where the stock turbo would mount (measuring from center of compressor inlets)

Doesn't this imply that your truck is actually going to have headers/manifolds on it at some point :dunno: ?

well now that i have this bracket on, i can start fabbing the atr headers to work w/ the turbo out there. I have hopefully all the piping i'll need, and waterjetted some flanges.

the truck or the manifolds?
I think we should take baby steps and start with the manifolds... the truck will never be done... they never are

True, although I still speculate (remember that 6 hour engine project  ? ). I've been going into withdrawl almost... I've had only 3 chances to work on my truck since June.... but, Christmas leave the GT is getting a new driveline and brakes

Re: My Turbo Bracket (pics)

i have other things to distract me/steal my time than just this truck...so it doesn't get much love. Realistically...the headers probably only need about 15-20 Renz hours to complete assuming everything i could possibly need wsa stting in front of me.

1 renz hour = 1 year

This is probably why I wasn't supposed to be able to get my motor installed in 6 hours... my hours are real time :rotf:
