NASTE Decals

OK,

I am willing to do a Group Purchase and handle all orders to make it easier for Jon, unless Jersey 91/93 really want to do it.

As for sticker sizes. I personally would like the outline decal to be larger. The decal is thin and I already ripped my 7" decal, a smaller decal is going to be that much easier to rip, I would not put one of these decals on the rolling up door windows (that pretty much eliminates the 2 direction Sy outline) I would rather see the new Naste decals in smaller 5" size, but that is upto evryone else. My reasoning is the Outline decals have much smaller writing compared to the logo size, the new decals have relatively larger writing.

I was thinking of putting a slight surcharged on each order and donating that to NASTE. Any thoughts on this?

I would like to get the logistics done before placing orders. It would be more cost effective to place a large order and I work right next to the Post Office, so that won't be problematic.

Joe, all I can say is "Thanks". This is a hell of a service you're doing for us Northeast guys. Personally, I just have to figure out exactly which sheets to order and you'll be getting an order from me shortly. I'm sure several others will do the same. Again, thanks.

I didn't fully read Jon's 2nd post.

If Jon really want to handle the Decal on an individual basis, I won't stop him. However I will still offer to volenteer to be a distributor. I know that a 2 dozen emails/address can be time consuming.

Dave, if we do go the bulk order route, I really don't feel possessive. I just wanted to get it done. Who actually makes it happen doesn't matter to me.

I have to agree with your logic on the sizes, but I'm personally pretty flexible one way or another. Also, JON did offer to make them a little bolder, which should help a lot of the issue. Not owning a Sy myself, I didn't think of the lack of side windows. I really should have, considering the body style of my '91 S10.

I had come up with the same theory. If I made anything from the sale (mostly by rounding errors was my guess), then I would have sent it all over to Morgan.

Anyway, I think I'll be placing an order for 3 sheets personally in a couple of days. God knows what I'll do with 30 stickers, but it should be fun.

Well, after reading the new posts I think i will get to work on making the images BOLDER. By Friday I will post an updated pic of the bolder images for aproval. If it's a go then I will place an order for the silver and possibly black, I am running low. At the same time I will begin taking orders. Silver orders won't be done until the following week and I'll fill black orders until I run out of material.

How does everyone feel about keeping the images 6" wide if they are bolder? Just to give everyone an idea how big that is... I believe an ordinary $dollar bill$ is 6" x 2.5". Image 1a (NASTE long) is about 1.25 - 1.5 inches high and the rest are about 2 inches. All are currently 6 inches wide.

Am I forgetting anything?

personally i like my typhoon naste logo (#3) as thin as they are now.

I have no problems with it coming off on my truck, my brothers truck, or my typhoon..

windshield wiper doesn't hurt it either.. just gotta make sure i don't hit it with the ice scraper.

Please though, do NOT mess with my designs. Do not change fonts or scale or anything. I made them a specific way, I expect them to be carried out as such. At the very least you should have attempted to clear this shit with me before going ahead and hacking apart my hard work. I would be more than happy to pull all the artwork off the website and make certain it is not used again if you feel like carrying on with your decal work.

Point taken well and I support your preferences 110% as well. If you notice in my early posts I would be seeking permission from the designer before ANY decals are ever cut and distributed. I'll pull the shortened new version and remove the third version with the alternate text. What about the old versions? Many are asking about them. Are they to be pulled as well?

Thank you for coming forward before I tried to contact you for final approval before cutting. Let me know what you approve of and that is all I will offer.

consider the design "intilectual property", IE: the person that made it owns it, when someone makes changes it technically could be considered law breaking.. and in the graphic design world its just a matter of respect.

So whats the latest story? I plan on putting a sticker on the back window of the Sy so I could care less about direction ect. Planned on buying 10 of the new, 10 of the Sy outline in red and 10 in black... a few for the truck, a few for the album and then a few to put on cars after I smoke them... :tup:

Let me put it this way:

You all have FREE REIGN to take the logos, old or new, and make however many you want. The thing that pissed me off was when you took the new logo and altered elements of it, specifically the type placement and scale. I don't want to get in the specifics, but doing stuff like that and offering items for sale without so much as contacting the designer is reall a "stepping on toes" kind of thing.

If some of you all still want old decals, go ahead and do them. For Typhoon side windows one of the outlines will obviously need to be flipped,but I could care less about that drawing anymore.

In regards to those who tried ordering decals from me in the past year or so, I tried to send reply emails to everyone explaining my situation. When I was up at school, I did not have access to a vinyl cutter on an affordable level. Right now, I work at a sign shop again, so I do whatever I wish in vinyl for little cost, but in Rochester they were tagging me with a minimum $37.50 house charge on any order. Decal orders were not coming in fast enough for me to be able to cover my costs at all like this.

Sorry if I pissed people off, I am a pretty cool dude for those who haven't met me, I just take my artwork & design seriously and don't like to see what I have done messed with. That's all.

Mike I got stickers from you a few years ago, and I think they are great. With the new shop your in and the number of orders people asy they can place would you be willing to do another run of these since you were the original creator? Not looking to add any fuel to the fire, just giving my confirmation that I'll buy a minmum of 10 red, 10 black Sy Naste logos.

We ALL add a flat fee of $5 per order and send it to Mike for using the designs? He was paying to use a cuter, how about we pay him to use the designs? By paying "per order" everyone will be contributing a fair share. If 10 people were to place an order, that would be $50... cheap in my opinion. He was paying almost $40 each time he neded to use a cutter. Mike, if you don't want the $$ then consider it a donation to NASTE.

Also, Mike obviously wants to fade out the old design for good reasons and I will certainly help him do that. Also many of you want to replace what you once had and will need the old design. We can do a "ONE LAST RUN" of the old design and remove it from availability for good. Sort of a last chance opportunity.

Let me know what you guys think, I'm changing the image on my site today. As of now, it seems that only the NEW DESIGN (1a) will be available on a regular basis. The OLD DESIGN will be available for a very limited time... when it's gone, there will be no more.

I'm not out to make money off my work. If you want to tack a fee on to decal orders at all, it should go to Morgan or some elected NASTE official to build up a pot so that this year's NE Extravaganza can maybe have some super rad prize that was actually funded by the members of NASTE itself.

I really apprecciate your willingness to work with my ornery ass on this stuff. You idea about doing a limited run of old logos sounds great. Set a deadline, and everyone who wants old logos can get them until that date. I bet it'll spur some sales from guys who've been slacking on getting some.

And truly, on your behalf, I appreciate you stepping up to bat and volunteering to make decals for these guys. I never minded doing it, but with my connections coming and going I started making enemies it seems when I could pull off an order. So thanks for that, you deserve some accolade for your effort.

Whatever you decide is fine, but I sure as hell don't want random money coming to me. It'd make me cry.
