neon srt4 intercooler?

im just wondering if anyone has ever tryed using a factory intercooler from another car i have axcess to a srt4 intercooler for free just curious if anyone has ever tryed this

People have used Volvo intercoolers with some sucess.

The saab 9000 intercooler is popular as well....I don't see why it'd hurt to try it, being free makes it a no-brainer.

the stock SRT-4 coolers are thick. but yea i would give it a shot. are thinking of in the grill or the lower bumper opening?

Keep in mind that some of the other manufacturers intercoolers are not rated for the higher pressures and can blow out.

Make sure you have an idea of what PSI you *are* running and what PSI the car *was* running which the intercooler came and furthermore, the max PSI the intercooler is rated for. (then there is CFM, pressure drop, etc etc.)

Sure would suck to fabricate in another intercooler only to blow it out on the first high boost blast.

if you have a way to test the temperature drop caused by the intercooler you could tell and if it was marginal you could do one of those C02 spray bar kits on the track to help it out

That intercooler is thick, SRT4 folks are running them with Stage 3 cars around/upto 360+ hp and 20-22psi without issues. BUT, alot of the "big guns" switch out for a bigger intercooler. I think it would be worth a try, esp. for free

Well a free IC is a good place to start. Of course will need to fab up the rest to make it work. Were you planningto use this in place of the factory one or as an AUX IC?

im going to remove the factory one not sure where im going to try to mount the air 2 air yet behind the grill or underneath where the factory one is now im not sure how much room i have i havent started to piss with it yet

my buddy adam used one in his T TYPE we may do the same in MY TY.... if I choose AIR to AIR lots to cut :tdown: dunno if I will do it...
