Nice Set up.

I have a similar set up on my truck execpt i used two external walbro pumps.

My recent concerns are getting rear ended. Since we actully dont' have a rear bumber to protect the fuel tank & lines. My fear is if someone hits me the truck starting on fire because of a gas leak.

I have and am considering moving my pumps to the front of the tank.

just a thought

All went in as planned. Well except for the sump that had the allen head plug that wouldn't come out, so we ended up drilling and tapping.

I will post pics tonight. It looks killer from behind....if I were me I wouldn't even consider after seeing the lines and the pump hining from behind the rear bumper support.

I hadn't thought about the fire hazzard. :-? The pump is bolted to the bumper support and the rearmost crossmember. The lines angle up out of the sump. and hug the tank.....Guess now I will have to drive around with a bag of cat litter and a fire extinguisher.....Gee thanks....I was happy in my ignorance.....now you are making me think.......

Thats why theres things called bladder cells and steel boxes for fuel tanks my relocated tank/cell is safer and better in a crash then the production tank if its good enough for nascar it should be good enoug for the street.

Got the fuel system done for now....
Its -10 out of the sump, to the filter, to the pump, and up the frame to the junction block by the transfer case.
Ran into some issues with the left sump hole, the alum plug that was in the unused port didn't want to come out. We ended up drilling and tapping. Some of the metal shavings made it into the tank, and even though we rinsed with water for several minute before hooking up hoses, it still sucked up some of the metal shavings, and clogged the filter. So there was some emergency roadside thrashing, compete with the fuel bath  from the full tank of gas when I unhooked the fittings to remove the filter.....hence the reason for the coupler being roughed up. I may replace it later so it doesnt look so bad.....

I have someone coming over to help me drop the tank, rinse it out, and install the new tank straps I have. I am going to give the tank a shot of paint, so it should be all pretty under there come tomorrow afternoon.
