New idler pulley still available (#10129560)?

While I have my engine out, I noticed my factory plastic idler pulley has seen better days. Searching the archives reveals that the GM replacement part number for this pulley is #10129560, but I want to be sure it's plastic and not metal. Is the plastic one still available anywhere?

Why?

If your plastic pulley is in good shape you could just re-bearing it if, for some reason, you want to keep it plastic. Clean the old bearing up carefully, mfg's name and part number should be on it.

Just decided to upgrade to the March pulleys instead. I wonder if the March idler pulley comes with the bearing already pressed in?

MCH-725 Pulley, Idler/Tensioner, Billet Aluminum, Clear Powdercoated, 6-Rib Serpentine, Chevy/Ford, Each $74.88 $74.88

Hey Jeremy I have a steel pulley, without bearing, you can have. (Assuming I can find it.)

Good, did a 12.88 followed by a 12.805 couple of weeks ago. Racing this Sunday then it all over 'till next year.

BTW That pulley is a new steel one without bearing and I think I have the bolt and washers also. If anyone sees this it's yours. Would still have to find it though.

Sick man, congrats on making it into the 12s...I know you worked hard for that  Will see you at the track next Spring; maybe I'll get kicked out for making a 10-second pass :)

I will be looking forward to that! Just keep it slower than 11.49 and you'll be fine. Rules change a bunch at that point. Sure would be nice to see some more trucks up here more often.

Bringing this one back up, does a factory Sy come with a metal or plastic pulley?

The one directly under the A/C compressor?

Mine never had one so I pulled a couple last weekend and some are metal, and some are plastic.

I was amazed at how many trucks at the pick and pull were missing the pulley but had the belt, or had the pulley and the belt was routed without coming in contact with it.

Idler pulley, GM 10129560 with bolt....... $66.50 msrp
The pulley is black plastic and fits GM vehicles that have a serpentine belt, including some Chrysler products.

you can just go to Napa and get one for $20 if you want a plastic replacement as well, TEM 209752 is the part number.

Personally I avoid plastic pulleys whenever possible.

Or you can purchase a 6203 bearing and press it in using your bench vise and a socket. About $5.00 at your FLAPS.

The ones I got were only a couple dollars because the lady at the checkout didn't know what they were

Sounds like a good idea to avoid the plastic one,

Thanks guys

Old thread but I'm dealing with this now.

The plastic idler pulley on my Ty just failed.

A few years ago I purchased a Delco pulley numbered 10129560 and stuck it on the shelf.

It is a metal pulley.
