New system.

Upon careful consideration, ive bought my system.
The system consists of 2

http://www.eclipse-web.com/cd/cd5000.html. Keeping the power in the truck is a stinger chrome polished 5 fared cap and a 170 amp alternator.


Leme know what you guys think. Im also installing POLK or JL mids / component amp.

being an ex-bass head....i say its overkill. I still have hearing problems in loud atmospheres from time to time. two 10s or one 12 if you need the depth is more than enough. Anything more than that and you're just doing it for the attention, not for the enjoyment of the music.

I agree there, me a bass head too, but damn thats going to be one big enclosure and heavy, my single 12 holds near 2000 watts and its way too overkill, i would be more def with 2 of them. But it is all nice equip. and i second the "i hope you have a typhoon" :rotf: or you could just port the bed like i did.

Thats one reason i went with one 10 inch. I wanted the music for me not to get attention from others. Plus a little lighter then having two 12's. Sounds good in my oppion but not that loud when you are outside the truck.

Its going in my s10 extended cab for a while. Gona go more insane with the next system. The last system in the s10 was about the same thing just all Eclipse products. i plan on lowering the xtreme and doing a little bodywork + some big rims and showing it off and keeping the ty as an all GO truck.

I got everything that i ordered now. Its all sitting behind me here as i type this. Im having an award winning shop do all my work and the way its planned its gona look sweet! Ill post pics when the product is finished on jan 15th.

Yeah, that's not a bad place to get your stuff installed. I used to know a guy named Joe that worked there. He helped me out with beta testing some amps when I worked at PPI and Orion.

Just make sure you make it all to where you can remove it. You'd be surprised at how much that box is going to slow you down.

I know after working at Phoenix Gold, Rockford, PPI, and Orion, I can't say that I have anything but stock stuff in my Typhoon. I guess after all the years in the industry, I can't really see myself with a big system anymore.

Like i said its all going in the xtreme. Im gona leave the Ty in Go fast mode and just get a head unit. With my big ass in the ty i figure i have enough xtra weight in the damn thing. :rotf:

Vinne I take it thats a custom box? I was thinking about doing the same thing, and that looks exactly how I had imagined it. Do you have the specs on it? Size, plans etc. ?

yes it is a custom box but sorry i dont have the exact measurments. My friend who installs systems for a living did it with me on his spare time. The box was not suppose to be carpeted. It is a fiberglass box that i was going to paint black and have some letters or numbers painted on the top for something different. For example the truck number or Gmc performance and the truck number something like that but becasue it took a while to do i wanted to drive the truck so i just went ahead and put carpet on it for now. Plans in the future will be to do what i stated before.
