If you are DRIVING OUT and wanna start figuring out some sorta caravan plans, please post with your name, where your coming from, what your driving and/or if you are riding with someone, ect ect. Also please leave an e-mail address, and if you could, PM me or e-mail me with a phone number to contact you at if questions or plans change.
I belive it stands right now that the NJ, NY, MA, CT guys are meeting in north Jersey around Mike B's place and we will be heading out to Rt 80 from there. Once we get a solid list of those who want to meet up and drive out, we can start making plans. PA guys, those if you who want to meet up along Rt 80, speak up also. Once we get our departure times figured out, we can figure out meeting time.
Also if anyone has any other suggestions or wants to get together for a pre-nats wrench session for tune ups and oil chnages, please chime in.
Peace everyone, .......its only 2 months away :D

You know I will be there, I'm just hoping that I don't have any more major issues before then. So count me in, I will also be bringing Eric (smaug) with me in my truck.

I was looking at the ride last month, and it's about 16-18 hours roughly. I was thinking we could leave from north NJ in the afternoon of thursday July 25th. I'd like to be there for the full day on Friday and take in as much as I can. Also, on the way back I would think we would all leave Sunday night late, or real early on Monday morning and be home sometime Monday night. These are just my $.02, lets hear from everyone else.

I'm in... I'll be rolling down HOPEFULLY behind nick and his Ty. Nick, I dropped a rod in the 69 GS. Here's a good 1- rebuilt engine (Buick 400) w/ 50 miles on it. Started it for the first time since February and friggin rod knock. The way my luck is going, the Sy will self destruct on the ride back from the trans shop in NJ.

I will definately be going wether or not I bring the truck i haven't decided. I will be bring my girlfriend Alicia. I don't think it would be any fun without the truck, but something was brought to my attention that made me think twice. You know when you go to a car show and you bring your car and you are always worried about it and never want to leave it, well I always am. I don't know if I can go and not be worried about some idiot leaning on my truck or trying to touch stuff under the hood, but as you guys all know I am a bitich when it comes to that stuff. I hope it doesn't rain, my truck has never been washed let alone rained on. But I definately can't wait to go, pretty funny huh.

Rob where you at man???

yes, like i said, we are definitly in, including my father, brother, and possibly some friends. we plan on leaving thursday, is this when everyone else is?

i think it would be good if we could run some simulation times just to see what time we all could meet up at various points along the way, what do you all think? keep me posted.

Ed, are you originating the car pool? if so, maybe we could all exchange some cell phone #'s or other way to contact each other. Either way, keep me posted and drop me a e-mail when the plans are more perminant, thanks :D

as far as I know, Ed and Pete are going out earlier in the week, not Thursday. Im not really sure who is actually the organizer of the caravan... I will help, but I dont feel like doing the whole thing like usual. If others wanna help, we can get this thing off the ground.

According to my calculations nick popadopalus will be the originator of the car pool. Coming from boston he will have the farthest to drive to NJ and nats (unless someone from maine or vermont or maybe New Hampshire plans on car pooling with us). But we will probably be at petes house on thursday ready to leave, he's about 20 minutes or so from Rt80 (I think). I will probably be going to NATS with all you fools, unless i get really ambitious and go by myself because pete has joined the working world once again. Anyways I know the NJ people have a place to meet so that should be easy, everyone else should look at a map and the quickest route to 80 and we can go from there.

ok, so since I am in the originating automobile.. I guess ill volunteer to call everyone when we are nearing meeting points...

this is what I think has been decided..

Nick and I will meet everyone from NJ at the Rockaway MALL off of rt.80 in ROCKAWAY NJ... this is right on the highway and almost in PA..

from there anyone west of NJ, give us meeting spots and a phone # list.. so we can call and let people know when we will be showing up (so no one is waiting for hours on end)

does this sound like a decent idea?

MikeRenz needs someone to pick him up in PA, he said hell meet us on RT. 80.. anyone wanna volunteer?

Rockaway Townsquare mall is probably the best place to meet. If anyone wants to get directions on mapquest.com here's the address to put in-

I 80 At Mount Hope Rd.

Hey all.
Nice to see some posts and progress with the caravan, I am still in, and I will be bringing my girlfriend Natalia. Here's my cell # 585. 414. 3282. so that we can talk prior to, if needs be, or on the way to pick up for nats. As far a picking me up, the best thing I can think of is if you guys in NJ have picked out the route to nats, let me know and I can figure out the best place. I am 10 min from Rt 90 which will take us right thru ohio, and I am guessing we will be on this Thru way at some point. Also, there is a Sy owner that is registered for nats, that is about 25 min from me. I wil attempt to cantact him and see if he will join us. Keep me posted.

Looking forward to speaking with you soon.

Ok someone has to take the lead here. Let's get a full list of everyone's name, cell phone number, truck, passenger (if this applies to you), and the city & state that you will be coming from. Let's cut and paste this list so that everyone can see a final list once this is done. I'll start.

Nick Caviasca 92 Blk/ Blk
Saugus, MA (781) 799-7824
Passenger = Eric Manfra

I guess there aren't many folks on the syty.org list anymore...my posts since March about caravanning have gone unanswered - not 1 reply. I thought (as in years past) nobody else from the northeast was going. Sorry, I don't have much time to keep up with the UBB. Looks like I better start making time. :)

I have 4 trucks, maybe more, meeting in Breezewood PA (where I-70 and I-76 meet) 9am Thursday the 25th. If anybody else wants to meet us there, terrific! (Please let me know so we don't leave without you.) If you other folks want to meet along I-80 (or 80/90 after they merge), that's cool too.

I know that means an early departure for some of you, and I'm not sure what exactly you guys were planning time-wise. We'd like to get there around 6pm local. This gives us a little leeway when someone's truck has problems. (Every caravan has at least 1 truck that develops issues. Trust me.) This way we're not working on a truck after sunset (not fun) and pulling into the hotel parking lot at the wee hours of the morning, after everyone else has started having fun. (Trust me on this too.)

And if our plans aren't good for everyone and you'd rather go it without us, that's cool too. Nothing beats pulling into the hotel parking lot as a line of 15+ SyTy's (another trust me), but I understand that it's not always possible to make everyone happy.

My list includes:
Aaron Klinger (me)
Mark Klinger
Bill Calcagno
Bob Galla
(all Typhoons)
plus a few other "maybes" - Jeff Shuffleton, Denny Raab, Kevin Miller, etc.

Let's get some more ideas out here - opinions, suggestions?

Only a month away now...
