These were a project I did back in college for my Ty. Basically what your looking at is a set of custom clear LED bumper and corner lenses for a 1st Generation S-Series.

each bumper light consists of 24 high intensity amber LEDs (turn signal) and 11 hyper white LEDs (parking lights)

each corner light consists of 11 high intensity amber LEDs and 5 hyper white LEDs.

I cast new lenses as well as designed and etched all the circuit boards. All in all it was a great learning experience. I ran them on my truck for a short while. I had trouble getting through inspection with them in 2002 so they were removed and have sitting in a box till this afternoon when I dug them out again.

I decided to take one last picture since they will be coming apart and I will be using the LEDs from them in 2 new projects for my Ty this spring.

Oh well, just figured I would share and reminisce for a bit. Thanks for reading :D

would you be interested in selling them instead of taking them apart ??

Honestly Marty, they really arent worth it. I left out all the bad details like when one of my classmates knocked one off the table 5 mins before my presentation and I had to hot glue the lense back on  and that 2 years of sitting in a box has taken their toll on them, I already broke one wire off (oops) and I never did polish the lenses out. They really were somewhat of a nightmare to hook up in the truck also cause in order to get the resistance correct since I was running 2 seperate circuits in my lights and our trucks corner lights are only 1 circuit, I had to run a mile of wire for the corners to work how I designed them to.

I can probably do something like that. I wont "install" them, but I can probably rig them up next to the clears I have in the truck now for a comparison.

Re: Not sure if anyone ever saw these...

oh christ...... anything is possible but Ill have to fire up my other computer to see.

On the other hand, I know exactly where they are because I had them out over the winter because I am working on a WAY more advanced set of lights that will get unveiled if and when #180 ever gets back on the road

Nice do you sell them or just make them for yourself?
