overboosting

I have had this truck for about two years now. I just started tinkering with the truck. when I aquired the truck, it was sitting in storage for 7 or so years. once I got the truck home i changed plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and coil. then it ran like crap. so i did more diggin and changed the fuel pump and asembly, regulator and fuel filter as well as feul relay. also changed the tps, iac and map sensors. the truck has not cat and i believe the flow master muffler is shot. I also changed all the vac lines. after all this the truck runs much better, but now when i floor the gas it has a hesitation and then takes off. when i launch it, it takes off for a second and the hits a wall and then takes off again. the boost guage is reading well past 15psi. the truck has no cat and the flow master muffler is shot, from the rattling sounds the it makes. My question is would a cat and muller fix this problem or maybe get meth injestion. I do believe that the truck also has a chip in it. when i bought the truck we found the stock one in the glove box. so i pulled the computer out one day and there is a different chip in it, but it doesnt say by whom.
thanks for the help

Re: overboosting

porting the turbo waste gate outlet hole is your only fix while keeping it like it is without different down pipe waste gate etc.

Re: overboosting

I don't think it has been asked, where are you getting your boost reading from ? Data logger, stock boost gauge, or aftermarket gauge. If it is the stock gauge it's very inaccurate. You may very well be experiencing some boost issues with no cat, but a good gauge you can trust is worth a lot. Good luck!

Re: overboosting

and that rattling sound probably isnt the muffler. Stop going wide open throttle until you get corrected, or you'll be aking about "knocking sounds". At least get a converter back on it. Good luck!
