Has anyone used the Plasti Dip Enhancers on there wheels?

I have C5 thin spoke C5 wheels right now. I'd like to plasti dip them black then put this color enhancer over the black to give it that gunmetal look.

That gave me an idea that I might plasti dip one set of wheels while waiting for the inspiration to restore them. Couple of questions rise: what color(s) would go with stock garnet/gray Ty? Is it necessary to take the tires off of the wheels for the treatment?
