Question about aluminum core support

Hey guys, I picked one of the aluminum supports up for my Ty with the fiberglass buckets. I've seen the threads about fixing the hood support and also shaky headlights... Does anyone have pictures of there supports all put together? As in how you mounted the headlight mounts to the support? And how you supported the hood latch better? Just looking for some ideas here,
Planning on tearing the truck down tonight and would like some advice on the instal

Re: Question about aluminum core support

Ttt on this.. Also wondering if I should just switch to a Efan or keep the clutch fan. It seems I won't be able to keep the stock fan shroud with the support

ditch the clutch fan. less drag on the engine, and cleans the engine bay up nice if you get some decent fitting fans and mount them correctly.

ive never had good luck with the single electric fans- you can get a dual fan from a Chrysler- I think its from an intrepid/sebring for like 30$ at a junkyard and they fit pretty nice and cool great

Re: Question about aluminum core support

It has been shown on here lots of times that an electric fan places more load on the alternator. The current the fan demands places more load on the alt and hence the engine than the clutch fan does.

Also, the electric fans often struggle to move as much air as the clutch fan.

I always say the stock clutch fan works the best & will give you less problems than running electric fans.:2cents:

I doubt I would see any difference in the 1/4 mile ET wise 12.08 all stock clutch fan

I have one of those all packed up and ready to ship, sold it a couple of times, cost $55 to ship and nobody wanted to pay shipping!!! looked kinda flimsy to me, (buy a carbon fiber one)

Re: Question about aluminum core support

I wanna agree with you guys on the clutch vs e fan, I'm not swapping it to help gain power. Using this new core support, I can't run a stock fan shroud without it looking like garbage, and I doubt not running a shroud on a clutch fan will pull the job..

And ps, that core support is being a whore putting in lol

Re: Question about aluminum core support

He will need electric fans for the aluminum core support because it shifts the radiator.

You will need a different upper radiator hose because of the shifted radiator (or extend it with a metal section). You will also need to create the ground for the foglights and horn. The battery negative goes to the factory support. You will need longer bolts for the body mounts. Bolts for the radiator/condenser. A new place for the charcoal cannister. If you still have the stock battery tray, one of the bolt is missing. So it won't hold the stock batter without some bracing.

Mine was a lot of work for the weight loss. The electric fans don't work as well as the stock clutch fan and shroud.
