Ran a couple of 11.60s last night Launch vid added

Tweaked the tune a bit (thanks Eric for that ability) and tweaked the meth a bit and the truck put down an 11.62 @ 116.66. Next round 11.608 but I braked (broke out by 2 thou.). If I calculate my 1000' time along with my average 1000' to 1320' that was an 11.58 pass.

Speeds aren't real high. Actually lower than "normal." 117 tops. Usually around 118. A comp racer once told me the speed will come down because I'm getting there to quickly. Half track speeds never budged. Stuck on 92.

I upped the launch RPM to 2650 and 60' times dropped from the 1.8s to 1.635 and 1.666. Probably where most of the lower ET came from. Any higher it spins the tires. (Street with 23 psi in the rears.)

I've got an 11.573 pass from last January. In general I consider a single "record" pass a fluke. Last night 2 legit 11.60 pass' back to back. (officially 11.622 and 11.608) So I can now call my truck a real 11.60 truck.

Still on 20 - 21 lbs boost if you're wondering. Although I topped off from about 1/3 tank with 91 there would would have been a bit of 100 race gas in there from a couple weeks ago.

You might recall I had a broken ring land on #1. 55psi compression. Ya think having all 6 working helped. :rotf:

Fun. We'll see if I can repeat...

Congrats.

Have you tried launching at higher boost, and just powering through the tirespin?

I use cheap street tires, and spin at anything over 2-3psi. But if i launch hard and spin, but stay in it, my 60' are actually lower than biting and bogging the engine down. If that makes any sense. I can only pull 1.9-2.0 launching at 2psi with grip. Versus 1.5s launching at 10-12psi and spinning. :2cents:

Good job as usual.

I get nervous about spinning the tires, mine has hopped a couple times when it gains traction. From what I understand the loading and unloading of the driveline when the tires hop is one of the worse thing to do the driveline.

Thanks all.

I have tried "powering through" the wheel spin. (Sounds like very old school dragster talk.) Doesn't seem to work. Times go down. There is a "sweet spot" somewhere between tuning the chip, adjusting meth, and launch RPM that seems to be a moving target. This truck pulls very hard, to me anyway, on the top end. I can tell I've had a good run if the spedo is above 115 at the stripe.

And. luckily, it doesn't do any wheel hop. Traction bars help there I suspect. I agree wheel hop is bad. Broken drivelines are common at the race track.

when you billy up on the chip, are you under your stall speed?

Not sure of the question but converter stall is around 28-2900. The more torque you throw at a converter the higher it stalls and with the truck running like it is I haven't checked lately.

Although not the best way I have always used brake stall as opposed to flash. Never had much luck with flash, things happen to quickly. What I might do is run DM and see what it says.
