Rattling ticking noise

Hi guys anyone help with this, I know it could be a lot of things but wondered if anyone else had a similar thing before ? I got a Sy and when the truck is stopped but the drive engaged at traffic lights for example I can hear a rattling, ticking noise. If I disengage the drive it stops. If I drive away from standstill it stops as well. Any ideas.....very welcome ? Thanks, Kev

squirls,mice,power stering pump,ac turning on and off on the defrost mode,exhaust leak,transmission going torque converter,water pump,????????????

Heheh I knew I would get the mice quotes !

Sounds like it is coming from the middle of the car but just wondered if it was symptom of a TC going ?

Yes same noise when I have reverse engaged and brake on.

in drive with the brakes on if you powerbrake it does it stop

i had the frnt drive shaft replaced on mine but it did it when moving not stopped.

You mean bring on the power with the brakes on ?

put your foot on the brake and slowly bring up the rpms with gas peddle in drive.

Naw don't think its a drive shaft. No noise when I'm moving. n

mine does this-have had complete overhaul and convertor-was told was regulator or check valve-normal on some gm transmissions.
