Which ones do I want?...hmmm. Aluminum.
How many do I need?....scratch head. However many there are under the truck now (two?).

Re: Rear Bumper Support brackets

I made a set of aluminum of rear brackets. (I used an brake & shear at my old work.) I also used different bolt than the factory setup as well to save weight. I went to put them on my fiberglass rear bumper cover and it seem ridculous they weight more than the 2# part I was using, I don't remember exactly what every thing weight, but I think I saved around 3-4# overall.

yeah I had made a set as well but I didnt really think the pound or two would be a big selling point

Re: Rear Bumper Support brackets

Here is a set in 5052 aluminum...which should bend w/o cracking. I'll probably have them bend/welded next week sometime....i don't have a stock bracket in my hand to take along w/ it, otherwise i'd get it done today.

Re: Rear Bumper Support brackets

with the work I have into my chassis she will be shown with Mirrors under the car. Also consider anodizing them because naturnal aluminum will get shitty with the quickness

Re: Rear Bumper Support brackets

well if you wanted to buy a set, i could just send you a flat set so you can polish/annodize them however you like. I don't think my personal polish would be show quality for you anyway...and its not worth you paying me to polish it.

Are you implying im Picky? YOu send them to me then I send them back to get them bent?

Re: Rear Bumper Support brackets

well my design is right on. We bent one this weekend w/ the ultra precise hammer & vise method. It turned out ok, but i'll have them brake bent for the real ones. So...guess we're back to who actually wants a set and made out of what material.

I can have a bunch cut this week or next and then bent the following week.
