Re: Rear Diff Rebuild

There are some bolt in 8.5 rear ends that were used in some of the 4X4 S series trucks. I think the ZR2 rear end will work. This has been covered several times on this sight. Do a search and you will come up with lots of informatin on it. Just be sure that you get one with the same gear ratio as the front or you will have major problems. All of the SyTy trucks had 3.42 gears as far as I know.

If you are interested in a bolt in 12 bolt Moser rear end send me an email. I've done several of these.

The ZR2 rear end will not work... it is overslung, not underslung, if memory serves. I know it will not work though

Zr2 is too wide, for a syclone you need a 4x4 s-series with a manual trans. Godd luck I have found 2 in the last 5 years and one is still in the truck

You make them sound rarer than SyTy's and we all know that's not the case.

From what Ive seen they are less then .05% of the s-series pickups were 4x4 and manual trans non zr2

Re: Rear Diff Rebuild

What about:

4X4, w/o ZR2 opt; 8-1/2" ring gear, 3.42:1.

Does anybody have the code for the correct rear end? Like GU6?
