Re: rockford racecraft byebye

Just got back. My Ty looks to be in the same shape I dropped it off in (minus the tore down motor and trans on a pallet). All the parts seem to be there, but they were in a box. I am going back tomorrow with a truck to pick them up and bring them back to my office to sort through and pick up my Ty on a flatbed.

Re: rockford racecraft byebye

You're going to have to use a photobucket or similar account and use the IMG codes for it.
If you need someone to throw them up, shoot them to me in an email to nathan@cleancarsnashville.com and i'll get them thrown up.

Re: rockford racecraft byebye

How's the condition of your truck?
Any additional information that you share about the trip to RR?

Those boxes of parts look like a nightmare.
BUT
You found the right place.
The folks around here will be more helpful and treat ya right.

Make sure that you have the correct engine and trans. Your vin number is stamped on each one fyi :)

Re: rockford racecraft byebye

Where would they normally be stamped? I was told that it should be on the block in this location, but there is nothing there. Guy told me that when they machine that surface it usually gets wiped out anyway, but as far as I know my truck with 20K miles on it has never been rebuilt before, and my block does not look like they did anything to it....so shouldn't it still be there? Where is it on the trans?

Thanks a ton guys...

Re: rockford racecraft byebye

Forgot to mention the trip.... Guy was nice and I think all my parts are there (minus the crankshaft and camshaft). The crank had hairline cracks starting and they pitched it ( I remember this from 10 years ago). Not sure on the cam (I seem to remember it being an aftermarket cam we were gonna reuse, but I could be wrong). Guy said they do not reuse them and it was pitched. Not sure on that, but it went better than expected and if all I am out on parts is the cam, then I am OK with that I guess. Sucks that I am out a bunch of money too, but there is not much I can do about that I guess. It will all play out in the bankruptcy courts. Maybe I will get a couple dollars back, but I am not counting on anything. The truck looks just like it did when I dropped it off (very very happy and relieved about that). I forgot to take pics of it, but I will when I pick it up.

I don't know, but I did find it a little amusing / sad that all the license plates on the trucks I saw expired long ago.....

Re: rockford racecraft byebye

Yep, I bought it with 18K on it. Flew down there and drove it back. Found out it had engine trouble and brought it to RR a few weeks after getting it. Never saw it again until now....
