my syclone idles excellent runs great up until 3000 rpms , then it starts running sluggish, it hesitates a lot as if its flooding any ideas. it has a new cap and rotor, taylor wires, cr42ts plugs, stock injectors, and chip, adjustable fuel regulator set at 45. could it possibly be the coil?

Could be alot of things.

Do you have Datamaster?

Kind of hard to diagnose across the net with the info provided

i have datamaster what should i look for? I did some intense searching and im gonna check voltage levels and resistance on the TPS, recheck all vacuum lines, boost solenoid, and try that famous "Spray plug wires with fine water mist to check for shorts", only thing I did not replace was the coil which makes me believe it might be going bad.

it still has a cat.... well I bought the truck with a bad engine (spun crank bearing)... so it has not run well ever since the new engine. I swapped the coil and boost solenoid from my typhoon and its still stumbling, hesitating. I have datamaster but what should I look for? thanks Im going to swap the TPS ...I'll be back in a bit... Any other suggestions...

thanks

I think it only does it under boost, how can i verify on datamaster..

Well for starters post up a run including some good WOT data and some of us bored off our ass peeps will take a look.

it starts right up and it idles like a new car. the spark plug wires r out of the way of the DP. Im going to replace those cr42ts for some UR6's tomorrow im thinking maybe one or a few r defective. As of the cat when i smogged it, it barely passed because of the cat (high numbers on something i dont recall but the dude said cat was going bad) was on its way out so does that mean its clogged? I'll just unbolt it tomorrow to make sure..

I have some datamaster runs but none are under wot for more than a second im not willing to put it into wot any longer it just hurts me to run it when its stubbling .... by the way how do i post a run on this thread or does it have to be hosted?

thanks group i really appreciate the help

Ok this thing has me upside down. the damn problem is still there, I changed spark plugs to UR6.... I removed the whole exhaust system, only downpipe.... I removed the the top intercooler and it doesnt stumble as much..... well I have been reading some postings from DARON about distributors and since I did put a remy dist from autozone I was thinking it might be the ignition module could this possibly be a problem?
It has a new fuel filter I pretty much replaced everything when I put the new engine in.

more help please

Yes, if you use the ignition module that came with the autozone distributor, you are going to have issues. Get a AC Delco module, and an AC Delco coil. Hopefully, your problem will go away.
Later,
Daron

Do you have a hesitation on the rev counter when your problems start check carefully if so i would say it is ignition related .
My geus is it is not the coil but the taylor leads.

i swapped the ignition module , cap and rotor with my typhoon and the problem still exists.... I noticed also that if its idling and i rev it as soon as it goes back to idle it misses and hesitates any one had this problem ? could it be the idle air control? any thing else????

I removed the turbo hose and it doesnt let me rev past 4k another problem I discovered?

help please

thanks

Go back to basics , forget its a sy or ty and check fuel pressure then check ignition Resistance of leads ,check for vacuum leaks, timing.
Run a fault code check . and im sure u will find the problem.
