Re: S/C Cobra

Something to consider, if he is slower being at high altitude and can probable hit the 12’s then if the other cars that he is racing can hit the 12’s at sea level then that may = 13’s at higher altitude … just a thought.

Re: S/C Cobra

My mods are in SIG. The only real mod I have in the trans is the 3-4 Z- PAK. I have a 2500 stall convertor and thats it. I used Raybestos clutches and Im still experimenting with what clutches I like. I also have a heavy duty forward sprag but Im not sure ild really call it a mod. Prop shaft is stock and I had it rebuilt about a year and a half ago. Probably about due for another, Ill havbe to check it out.

I havent seen a stock GTO yet get out of the thirteens up here. If anyone says otherwise it has to be modded. Theres a guy here who owns a shop and has a gorgheous GTO and we talked for about a hgalf hour and he told me the best he could do was a 14.9 on stock tires. This is a guy with a monster Chevelle who runs consistent 11's. The car is scary. He does know how to drive. I think his GTO is the first year they came back but iM not sure. The GTO is not faster than the Vette of those years and from what Ive read, htey pull off 13.5 at sea level. Up here Ive seen plenty of 350hp, 00-04 Vettes run a best of 14.2. Ive raced a few GTO's and havent come across one yet that was much of a threat.

Its too bad people are so skeptical, it makes me think there are a lot of insecure people in the world that think everyones a liar. Perhaps most of the haters just want to try to get credit for busting somene out who isnt a liar. No big deal to me. Come on up here and Ill show you guys an awsome time. We can roast marshmallows afterwards.

14.9 is downright pitiful for that car. I would end myself If I were him. Seriously.

Uh 13.5 @ sea level? Where are you getting your facts???

Funny thing is my mom has a bonestock Impulse Blue '04 GTO A4. My dad, brother and myself have taken it to the track several times. Best we could muster up was a 13.65 @ 101.7 (bonestock tires just like your buddy) with a horseshit DA too (over 2800ft). I'd say for a bonestock and tire LS1 that's pretty darn good. Keep in mind that's the '04 with the 5.7. The six litres are a bit faster. It's not uncommon for stock '05 M6 GTO's to run somewhere in the 12.8x range. But still everybody races them and "they're slow as piss". LOL

Just cause you heard a certain car ran one thing...doesn't mean they're all the same.

I think it was off of DEREKSEXOTICCARS.COM. Could be wrong though. However, I just looked through my car and driver car comparison issue from like 00 and it said the automatic did 1`3.8 and the standard 13.1.

Gosh from what I read everyday in the kill section YOU'RE the "billy bad ass pro". Maybe I'll bring my stock Ty out there to line up with the infamous "BUSA KILLER" himself.

But if I beat you...does that mean I could beat a Hyabusa?

How come everytime you "shut it down" early? say at 40? Or is it that someone is coming so hard and you just let off?

Where did I say I let off at 40? We let off at 90 cause he pretty much had me beat at that point. Maybe you should read this one over.

So were out the other night and were rollin next to a yellow S/C Cobra. Everytime he got in it even a little, I could hear it whining. Is that normal for a stock S/C Cobra? It whinned loud. Anyhow, we caught a light together and we both nodded. I didnt have much time to get ready and I only launched with 5#'s. Still, I had him bad. About 6-7 cars by the 1/8th or so. We caught the next light. I asked him what he had done and he told me Intake, exhaust and he was gonna put a pulley on this weekend. He also told me he wasnt ready at the last light and wanted to run again. So I get all set up, light goes green and Im 3 cars out. We were doing about 80 when he started to pull. At 90/5 his front bumper was at my back tire. We both let off at that point. The guy was pretty cool and gave a thumbs up and I did the same. One of the better races Ive had in a while.
 Those boys in the springs get a little touchy about their cute little cobra's....they post these huge dyno sheets but just can't run the numbers at the track or on the street, I rolled one up that had every power adder/bolt on, in my Zr1....and to make things even more funny, this was the same SVT biatch that would never race me in my Ty because his clutch wasn't broke in yet......ya right! :rotf:

Good kill on that ultra rare SVT mustang...
