Start there, then check your rotors/pads. Warped rotors can cause this all day.

Re: shaking symptons

I was suspecting the rotors but I;m not getting a wobble/shake when I step on the brakes. But at this point I better check them.

Ya buts it's not like it is a bad thing to check the rotors lol. Plus doesn't really cost you anything but time. And it's tough on rotors and pads trying to stop a sy going light speed.

Re: shaking symptons

Rotor's/pads will NOT cause a vibration. Shake down the front end again, replacing part after part does not fix a problem. Did you have the alignment done before you changed the idler? Did you make sure you have your new hubs bolted down flush and tight? Check all your ball joints on a shake down with the front end.

Dont forget you have inner tie rod ends also

Also, Im assuming after you replaced all of those balljoints you did grease them all right?

And is the steering wheel just vibrating or does it have more of a left to right wobble? Is the steering wheel center when driving on a stright uncrowned road without potholes and bumps, I know how those hillbilly roads in north austin can be.

x2, don't know how many people I've had to tell this to over the years. If your not touching the brakes, they're not applied, well or shouldn't but that's another problem.

Same goes for an alignment, it will not cause a vibration. If was far enough out to, you wouldn't be able to drive it

Re: shaking symptons

A rotor doesnt have to pulse when braking to be bad.
It could be out of balance if it was sitting for a long time and had rust build-up in the vents.
Did you rebalance the rear drive shaft itself?
Bad shocks not holding rebound?

Re: shaking symptons

Jack up your control arms one at a time and see if the wheel moves up and down, if it does, your hubs are bad. If your truck is real low, double check you didn't break your new half shafts. I went through 6 pair in about 8 months. Doubt either one of those is your issue but its worth looking.

Realy, He has already guessed at enough parts. And now your reccomending him to balance the rear drive shaft "by itself" I didnt know you could balance them on the truck or in pairs? Please explain? Please also explain how a rotor could cause a high speed vibration that does NOT have anything to do with applying the brakes? With my 12yrs experiance, I cant say I ever remember balancing a rotor? Bad Shocks, He said a vibration, not a bouncy ride or poor handling.

DaveP said he had a similar issue.... new hubs solved it.

Re: shaking symptons

Hi everybody new to SyTy but had this issue
also with my Ty at hi speeds after checking all
the front arm ball joints and alignments i found out
what the problem was there are two bushings that
are supporting the front differential you can only see
them when the vehicle is lifted check these because
they dry out or crack after a few years !!:tup:

Re: shaking symptons

Your transfer case or front differential may be about to let go.

I had a bad shake in my truck and I lost my AWD eventually ---
