Ive used jb weld and 2 part epoxy to patch bolt holes from stupid wings put on cars. It seems like it always eventually cracks or shrinks.

I did it the same way, while the weld was still hot I used a hammer and dolley to take some of the mountain range out from where the screws pulled up,

just A tip when it is hot put A cold wet rag on it & it will shrink the metal almost back to perfect.

oh for the weld holes behind the cross braces a piece of copper pipe hammered flat works great

Good luck with that. Call the rep of a make your "package" bigger and they will claim it works also.

I plan to fill mine over winter, it will be welded.

do you have any idea how much work it is to paint the roof? I dont really wanna try things


I tried that water boorne primer on the cladding:tdown: dried like cement and sanded like shit its all a pile of dust on the floor

I understand where everyone is coming from, I was just trying to figure out another way to get it done. It looks like tig welding is probably the best choice.
I am in teh process of painting the entire truck, so painting an area doesn't bother me. I was just looking into alternatives

Some things should just be left to the professionals. I understand the mentality of not wanting to needless spend money, but there are alot of things (body work being the big one) on any car or truck that should not be taken on by a person with little to no experience.

correct but people arent born bodymen, or engine builders or doctors they learn, :tup:

for a shop to paint your roof it would cost about 500 or more if the bodywork is straight

i would only charge 200
