Shifting problems

did alittle work to the truck but Im having problems with it shifing under wot. Just driving truck runs great shifts good and trans shifts hard through all gears, But as soon as I open it up it runs good till it shifts and it hits rev limter and wont shift till I let off.

I have up graded turbo vortecs ported intake trans downpipe and exhaust,

AND A STOCK CHIP

The tranny breaker
I had the same problem. My problem was a pin holding the servo band. It was broken. If you go really fast on first and then let the gas go. Does it shift to 3:rd? It could be that your second gear is "gone".
If you go to third and do a kickdown and the truck jumps out of gear than it's probably this problem.

What you could be experiencing as shift when you go smooth is that the tranny skips second and go to third gear.. But I'm not sure about this

It could also be a sticking Kickdown valve. Remove the oil pan. Yank out the valve and clean it with lubeguard / WD40 and put it back in the tranny. Also check the pan for dirt / debris. Dirt / debris easily cloggs up the valves.

Get new Dexron III Syntethic Fluid and try it again. If this doesn't work you could have broke the same pin as I did.

Ok, my gt is having the exact same problem as this. sofaKINGfast,you said you fixed it but didn't say how, so I'm not sure if you are still on this site, but if you are any advice is greatly apreciated. If anyone else has had this problem or knows how to fix it please let me know...thanks guys.

Well, I guess I'll try playing with my throttle valve cable abit, that seems to be the fix to this for some people.

I drove that truck right before he sold it, and after the initial post of this thread.....It was NOT fixed....I dont think there was a syty tranny in it....for some reason, I think that truck was put together from a couple of different vehicles.....he was glad to get rid of it.....

Well, my truck is now fixed. I was talking to my dad and a friend of ours, and told them all about the truck shifting badly and feeling like it had no balls at all. Then I also told them about the exhaust leak I could hear while driving it, so my dad suggested the cat may be plugged. So since It doesn't need emissions for a few months, my dad and I just hollowed out the cat and now its running better than it EVER has. :tup:
