A lot of people use those shocks. I have them on front and rear. The handle very nice, but they are a little rough especially if your truck is lowered. A lot of people would recommend them including myself.

let me know if your interested, they have about a years worth of use on them, came off a truck featured in gm hitech perf magazine; they look a lot better in person, phone cam pics dont do a used shock any bit of justice

I'm into that, already got them in front with the coilovers but in the rear I've fiberleafs with 2"drop and think I have to go for dual adjustables:2cents::2cents:coilovers to
but cant figure out the size of and springrate on them.
anyone knows??

I installed Bilsteins in the front when i redid my whole front end. I already had the KYB for the rear in my shed that i bought about a year before so i decided when i had the truck up let me replace the rears with the kyb for now. I had the stock factory air ride still int he rear working. Im not sure if it is the shocks but the ride that i get from the rear is not what im looking for. It feels to stiff and when i go around turns i feel the sway and yes i have a aftermarket sway bar. Maybe they are to old but they look brand new. I will be going with bilsteins soon.

Myabe santa can put them in my stocking...:tup:

IMO without going coilover Bilsteins are by far the best shock I have ever used on an S10 or GMC. I use them in all mine at all 4 corners.

IMO you probably want a 550 spring, and talk to e-rue@turbotime.net, I think, he's on the forum, and he can tell you everything else you need. That's all you really need to know. And it's roughly $500 for the front.

QA1 will improve your ride no matter what, because you essentially get 12 different shocks to try out with the 12 different settings, as opposed to just installing one and crossing your fingers.

Does this mean it's only $500 for the coilover conversion for the front? If you did the front but not the back would it make a big difference?

Is anyone running coilovers on just the front?

The Ty we just bought had coilovers on the front and I will tell you this, the handling was nuts for a Typhoon. When we discovered our truck had a cracked frame we decided to swap the stock suspension back when we made the frame repair last night. The handling went back to normal SYTY crap and we used the Bell tech nitro drop shocks. They came in a box with the truck and that is why I used them so don't really know how they compare to others. I will say that it is a much smoother ride though, just can't corner well. The coil overs were form RPM.

Do you think the crack in the frame had to do with the coilovers? Does anyone else have this issue?
P.S. what does bump mean?

people type bump, to 'bump' a thread back up to the top so people will see it/post

You can run coilovers on the rear, but it doesnt do much unless you get a link system, and can ditch the leafs.

Yes it's only $500-600 for the front, and most people only run them on the front, as stated to run them in the rear you need a ladder bar/link system setup, for them to really be useful. You can get matching QA1 coilover shocks for the rear and run the coils too if you want a stiffer ride.
