Heya Morgan,
I've been up to LBI a few times now, very nice place. A good friend of mine owns a house up there on 100th. Went up last September with him, riding his parents' landcruiser over the beach (all the way from the south end point to almost the Lighthouse). Awesome place to live, I'd never be able to afford it though :)

your very lucky you didnt get arrested driving on the beach. its HIGHLY illegal except in like 2 places on the island, and you need to have fishing permits for that even.
anyway, if your up here again, drop me a line. I am usually here 90% of the time.
as for me, im trying to save up to buy a place here......unfortunately the property values are through the damn roof right now. Looks like I will be hanging with the 'rents for another year or too.

He was telling me that it was OK to drive during off-season, as long as you had that permit (he did). There's an empty lot, a small one, across from his parents house. I believe he said the land itself was going for $250k!! (it's 3 houses down from the beach entrance). I'll let you know if I go up there again, always a good chance to check other rides :)

yeah, property here is crazy. you cant find a shitty lot for less than 200K. the closer you get to the ocean, add 50K per lot. lets just put it this way, houses and property worth 30 million is a common thing.

Got a picture of the Light? My wife and I huge lighthouse fanatics. We've seen like 60 or 65 lights...she's got 'em all written down and has like 20 or 30 miniatures of the ones she's seen.

That is no beach, that is a lake. Where are the waves? Nothing to do but Jet-Ski on that break...

boring

boring

you live @ the dead end of the island. No life what-so-ever.the south end is where the action is. Its hilarious. cruise down the main road where life is and make fun of ricers.

only problem with having nats on LBI is the massive amount of trucks may sink the island 8)

Hey morgan thhat beach looks pretty dirty. LI has nice beaches. Host the nats there.

how does the beach look dirty? can you please explain that to me? there is no garbage, no cans and bottles.... WTF are you looking at? the seaweed and shells? you cant stop nature dude, get real. plus there is a town law against removing anything from the beach that is naturally there unless it creates a hazard.

LI might have nice beachs too, unfortunately we'd have to put up with all those New Yorkers :D j/k

really? I didn't know you couldn't clean up the beach. By me they do. They have this 4 wheeler thing that cleans.

yep, they are called "beach rakes". other towns by me have them also, but none of the other towns on LBI have any dunes or beaches left to protect the houses cause the seaweed and shells all help keep the sand on the beach and not errode away.

i will take stuff on my beach anyday rather than watch my house get washed out to sea during the next nor'easter.
