I left the key in the on position and started talking to some friends that were over and next thing you know there was a little bit of smoke coming from one of the injectors and it was really hot, so is the ecm ruined now? I have 2 spare injectors, should i just change that one and try it? What a pain in the ass, it was running really good and then something as stupid as leaving the key in the on position causes more problems, i think my truck hates me. Has this ever happened to any body, i guess when the key is on it is putting voltage to the injectors, is this correct.

Hey Jack, I don't have speedpro yet  but if you have the key on that means the fuel pump should be on and if the injectors were receiving a signal you'd be dumping alot of gas in the engine. "can you say Hydroloc" I'd definetly contact speedpro.

i'm not sure on the votlage to injectors, but there is a fuse holder with a 30amp for the speedpro. i'd think that would blow first before hurting the brain. but i'm not sure for certain.

I would have thought the fuse would have blown first also.
Al, the fuel pump was not operating at that time, so i dont know what happened, it was just up and running 5 minutes prior to this. I called harry at pte and he wants me to send the ecm to him and see if he can duplicate what happened, its very strange only one injector got really hot being a bank to bank system, maybe a bad ground. I tell you , i had the thing running so sweet , just getting ready to start driving it again and then this happens.
The new turbo is sweet , man the ball bearing spins forever when you shut the motor off and it feels more crisp with the 58mm throttle body and the new exhaust setup, all3.5 with a borla xr-1 race muffler stopping before the rear tire. I was so ready to start tuning and driving the dam thing. :(

Al , i dont think it was letting fuel in the motor because the pump never turned on again, just the initial turn on when i turned the key on, but then it sat there for 15-20 minutes with key on.

I thought hydroloc would only happen from too much water in the engine?

Too much fuel would just flood the engine, not leaving any room for the vapors to ignite, and the truck wouldn't turn over, just chug. Right?

fuel can cause it. The fuel that is trapped on the compression stroke has no where to go. It feels lonely and neglected and F's up your day!!!

I checked the 2 spare injectors with a ohm meter and the other 6 in the truck and just number 3 is reading different so hopefully the rest are still good. I set the ohm meter to 200 and all the good ones read 2.2 and the fried one is reading .07. :(

I think it was only that MF injector .I bet my ecm that your ecm is good :D I know that Fast uses drivers for the injectors that could power your starter also  haha its really that strong

the fuel pump will not continuosly run with the key in the on position. It only primes for a predetermined alotted time. Generic setting is 5 sec on speedpro and stock is like 2-3 seconds. Even if the fuel pump was running, the gas would return to the tank through the regulator. In order to hydrolock the motor an injetcor would need to be stuck open. My thoughts would be a bad ground or burnt fuse.
