Speedo never worked on the truck since Ive owned it, but Id like to have it.

I pulled the dash looks good, checked trans wires look good, is there a cable that goes to a sender somewhere maybe? I also noticed that when I turn the a/c on the needle jumps or stays at about 20mph, I checkd my ground wires on the firewall. what other ground should I check and where are they. What are the main ground wires, what are the trouble wires....

Check the DRAC unit mounted on top of your ECU

Speedo signal comes thru the DRAC to the wire connector (can't remember what color it was though) and goes to the speedo

I had an intermittant speedo problem with mine and ended up cutting / re-soldering the wire and it now works fine

Drop your ECU down and let it hang into the passanger compartment

Have someone else drive you around the block while you wiggle each wire on the DRAC (at / near the connector), maybe it will work

Good luck

Speedo to ECM module.

Speedo to ECM module.

Hey, great info ! I just switched to a Gen VII and wondered why my speedo didn't work. And I was wondering what the ~ 8 plug and 4 plug connectors hanging there were for. I just removed this module from the old ECM and plugged it in - I'll see if it works now. I still have a 1-Pin white wire hanging there. Anyone know where that plugs in ?

Still got alot of tuning to do on the Gen VII. It doesn't have alot of drivability yet. I can get 10 % throttle and WOT above 3000-3500 RPM to perform, but not much in between yet. Doesn't Cold Start very well either.

race or get outta the way
plug that stuff back into the drac and then your speedo and tc lockup will work again.
