Sqeaky back window!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey fellas,
I know someone has had the same problem.My back window sqeaks on my ty.How can I stop this noise?Do I need new gaskets or what?Where can I get them.Need help fast.

make sure the locating pin on the glass side doesnt have a groove worn in it. I think the female side on the gate had a little insert grommet,make sure thats there. then just lube the pin and the latch. you can hit the weatherstrips with a spray silicone.make sure the latch is adjusted correctly.
lube the gate latches too.
white lithium works but I usually like to use gm superlube. its transparent and has teflon in it. sprays out thin then gels up a bit. you can get it at any dealer

quick easy way but doesnt last long is to just get some electrical tape and wrap the window latch a few times to make it tight, and also wrap the tailgate latches a few times. On my ty wraping the tailgate latches actaully made the biggest difference, this wont last long though if you use it alot.

i did this on a better once jam a rag into the female end of the gate dont do it to where you can see it but then shut the window and walla no noise

ya im lazy and just wrap some duct tape around it and it stops for like a year. the hook thing wears into the latch. i think theres more info on sytyauthority.net about it

My friends Blazer has the same problem, and for a quickie fix I just slathered some Sil-Glide on the hinges, the pin, and the latch. No more squeak!

welcome to the club that and the rear seat flop when you brake hard :rant:
I just put the soft side of velcro on the pin works great and still allows your rear window to pop..

I put lithium grease on the inside and the outside, it's worked so far..... tried the electrical and duct tapes.....they work also.

Did the same thing long time ago and works great since then, tighten down that latch real hard.

wrap electrical tape around latch a few times. replace every 5 or 10 times you open your hatch. you still gonna buy my swaybars man?

Im headed to get a new striker bolt for the Ty today. $1.70. If it works ill let you guys know.
