Syclone frame vs Standard Gen 1 frame

I wasn't sure where to post this question, but this section seemed the best fit...

What are the differences in a standard gen 1 s10 or Sonoma frame compared to a Syclone frame? If I was to source a new or used frame for a Sylcone, would it have to be a 4x4 model? Conventional wisdom tells me it would at least have to be a regular cab. But are the motor mounts the same for the older 2.8 vs 4.3? And does it have to be 4x4?

There are 10 frames for the 1st Gen S-series. There is a splice about the middle of the doors. The front section is welded to the rear section.
There are 2 front sections, 2WD and 4WD. These are completely different, and not interchangeable. There are 5 rear sections: Regular cab pick up in short bed, regular cab pick up with long bed, ext cab pick up (short bed only), 2-door utility, and 4-door utility. The rear section incorporates the different wheel bases and body/bed mounts.

On 4-wheel drive the motor mount pads bolt to the frame. There are different mount pads for the wheel bases. 4.3 mounts are a steel pad with the rubber mount on the engine.

So you need a 4X4 regular cab short bed pick up frame. Good luck. Even before these all rotted away into dust, 4X4 short-bed were far and few between. Most 4X4 if they weren't ext cab, they were long beds. There were probably more Syclones than short bed 4X4. 30 years ago.
