SyTy vs WRX

Hey guys, me again, got somemore race questions, i know i know, im sorry...there is this girl in my school, her bro has a WRX, mostly minor mods...intake exhaust chip...but he also added a different turbo...not sure which one...but he says he is pushin about 270hp...and he will take anything on...1/4 mile...but for $500 min...its a 5-speed also, what do u guys think, he is talkin soooo much shit...always sayin he will take anything on...and kill anything out there..lemme know what u guys think..thanks andrew

fastest one I've seen rand a 14.1 had an intake and exhaust. your issue is with the turbo. I dont know how much more air you can push in with a stock fuel system though.

you'll Kill it, i have raced 3, 1 had a upgraded turbo intake exhaust, chip and nittos on all 4 and i think a 50 shot might of been less. but i stomped him bad!
believe me, if he is sooooo confident in his car tell him to give u 3 lengths for fun or set him out a length, WRXS dont launch as hard as SY's/TY's.

actually i am in the process of looking at WRXs and i test drove one they are pretty quick, with all the stuff you have listed on the wrx it runs like a 12.6-12.8 depending on driver, also if he has upgraded turbo and all those other mods then he has more than hP then he says , which most likely means he doesnt have an upgraded turbo and you will spank his ass i have beaten three and they are nice cars but not as many parts for them yet. I don't know how stock your truck is, but you should be able to take him. He only has a few choices on launching and they all suck. He can bog, he can slip the clutch, or he can dump it. Dumping the clutch is the only way he'll ever beat a Sy/Ty off the line, and he'll do it maybe three times before he strips the teeth off first gear. Some guys have WRX's running low 12's but transmissions are always the constraint.

Anyway, bottom line is you are using a machine built to destroy the quarter-mile, he's using a rally-cross car and adapting it to his purposes. Advantage: GMC.

I had a run in with a WRX with a turbo upgrade intercooler upgrade, chip and YES NOS I still beat even on a 30 mph roll, My truck is pretty damn stock!

My Typhoon is bone stock and on my way home from work I bumped into the same wrx two different times coming out of the tolls.We were racing a little on the highway before,but out of the gate on a roll of 5 mph roll I killed him.(wrx=NO PROBLEM).

Depending on the turbo he is running, it might be a very good race. These are very fast cars when you start to modify them. They will usually leave my shop with at least 300whp. We have one that is going to be putting out about 400whp very soon. From a light you should get him but on a roll it may be a different story. Ask him what turbo he is running and I will tell you.

I enjoyed a brief run against a WRX a couple of weeks ago. Since I was on my street tires he got me across the intersection..... after that he was history. I ran it up to the top of 3rd gear and was waayy ahead of the guy and backed off. Then after a few seconds he goes blowing past me in the usual fly-by fashion. I guess he didn't like getting smoked by a pickup truck.

a 0-60 in sub 5 on street tires in a 3600lb truck with 280hp means it does hook up pretty damn well.

WRX's are sweet and all, but I yet to see one that is fast enough to compete.

onefast, lets go put some street tires on you s-10 and compare 60' times. ;P
