It sounds like it is one of the cooling lines. You can replace the line or splice it. If you splice it with hose, use hose made for transmission lines. I think it is 3/8" diameter hose.

Yea i bought some thing called a copression fitting that i can splice into the line but what is the easiest way to do that is it with the lines on or with them off????thanks for the help

I wouldn't reccomend using rubber hose, I tried that and it ended up leaking even with 6 hose clamps. Get a flare tool and regular tranny line fittings, then cut the line where the hole is, put the fittings on, and flare the ends. Use a connecter fitting to connect the lines. You should be able to do it from underneath the truck.

ok guys i just got done finding the problem with my leaking tranny line it is the top line that runs from the tranny to the radiator and it was out of them little clips and was rubbing up aganist the oil return line fitting. I would be the best way to fix it because i have limmited amount of room in this spot???? what is the best way to take it out off the tranny is with a crows foot? do i get another tranny line and bend it or can i use them compression unions that i was talking about in my first post ? thanks for the help Jonathan sy#2716

Braided stainless hose and AN fittings. Also, get the aluminum hose separators while you are at it. Now is also the time to install a B&M tranny cooler.

I am going to ge the tranny shop to bend me another line instead of tring to fix that one. But my question is how do you get the line loose from the tranny? i tryied with a crows foot but could get it at the right angle and then tried a combination wrench and my hand is to big to get it between the body and the exhaust? thanks for the help Jonathan sy#2716

It may be ghetto, but I have spliced lines using transmission hose without leaks. Make sure you get the right diameter, and use good clamps. Use multiple clamps, if necessary.

Most transmission coolers come with hose for installation.

mccoy motorsports spliced mine with hose like that, and when i had my tranny built (increased line pressure) the hose blew off while out on a test drive, and quickly pumped out all the fluid. if you dont want the hassle of stainless lines, i would recommend a union (compression) fitting from the hardware store. i installed one on the ty, got it from ace hardware for just over a dollar.

I had the same problem with mine...It was the return coolant line, it was rubbing on what looks like the huge brass nut under there. Mine only wore a same little pin hole in the line. I just moved the line over a little bit so that it wouldn't it the nut anymore.

Then to fix the line, I cleaned it up with a little emmory cloth and then took a little JB weld and rubbed it over where the pin hole was. let it sit for 24hrs. put a little silicon on the nut incase it started to rub agian and it was good as new.

I haven't had a problem with it leaking since then, and it was leaking when i first bought the truck.
