Trans filter, gauge

Getting ready to order my remote trans filter and temp gauge. Looking at this and this (to match my boost gauge). I was told that the remote filter has a spot for the temp sender... Is that pretty much true with any of these remote filters (they all look about the same to me in those tiny pics)?

Anything special I need to watch out for while installing the gauge (compared to the boost gauge)? Anyone found a really good spot for the filter? Anything I'm forgetting? Oh yeah, which line is which (supply/return) to the stock cooler?

pops bought the same kit, and I think we'll be installing it weekend after next.

Ive talked to several, and I think we will probly make a bracket to mount the thing on the frame. The one he bought had 2 options w and w/o temp gauge. I think the only difference is they put a plug in the gauge whole.

I think its from be cool?

The bottom line is comming from the tranny, the upper is the cold line going back. I've almost the same combination, the same remote filter and a Z-series gauge, so it should work.

Cool, thanks. I originally wanted to mount the cooler under the bed somewhere and put the filter in the frame like the fuel filter is. Keep all that stuff out of the engine bay... But I don't think I want to mess with fans and stuff back there, so I'll probably end up sticking it in front of the radiator like everyone else does...

I have had the Summit remote filter (SUM-G4980) in my truck for over a year with no problems. I ended up mounting mine in a hole where the battery tray used to mount to the fender. Even used the bolt that held the tray in place and have plenty of room to spin the filter off-it's a perfect fit. You can just make it out in a pic here: http://www.chitownsyty.com/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=2932&id=aaj Obviously, this won't work unless you have your battery relocated  I cut and flared the pressure line going into the trans cooler in the radiator so, my fluid is filtered before any cooling takes place. I then routed the return out of the radiator into my B&M trans cooler and it finally returns to the transmission. I ran the wires for my temperature sender through the fenderwell so, they are a little hidden from view. Also wrapped them in plastic tubing to protect them from chaffing. HTH's

I have the B&M 24,000# GVW (Summit part # BMM-70264) transmission cooler on my truck. Mounted it right in front of the radiator on the passesnger side with the included hardware. With regards to temps, on really hot days like say 90ish, it gets up to around 160-170 degrees at cruise. On one rare instance that I drove it in the winter, it was around 100 degrees. I have an electric trans temp gauge also. I programmed it to flash the warning light when the temps exceed 220 degrees...
