I was looking around Jegs for a tranny filter kit since i am gonna going to hopefully install a TCI deep pan and my tranny cooler on Thursday, however I noticed that TCI doest have a 700R4 filter kit listed? Any suggestions? Is the 4L60E the same thing?

The TCI tranny pan will leak unless you do a lot of grinding from what I understand.

The 4L60E has a completely different filter style as far as the filter goes. Don't know about pan design though.

I got the one from Summit that closely resembles our stock oil filter. It also has an 1/8" tap for a temp sender. $40 with handling and tax and such.

yeah, im aware of the pan, thanks, but nobody else has seemed to have any better luck with other pans either. at least I have heard SOME good about the TCI.
I guess I will just get a stock replacement filter from NAPA....

thanks for the reply

I just put the TCI on a few days ago and it fit with little grinding. This is the pan Brian Hartman recommends to help strengthen the trans. I ground it a little on the pan and while I had the toque converter cover off for other other reasons I just ground it down in some high spots and it fits perfect and does not hit at all. I do not know about it leaking yet but will hopefully soon, and I just used a trans filter from GM cost like $20, ask Hartman what he recommends he is very knowledgable. Good luck and have fun.

Morgan, I went to these guys for my pan.

I bought the 4 qt. extra model. But they have a 2 qt. extra model also.
It fits well. The only mod was to file the shifter cable bracket holes and grind the side of the bracket a little. Everything else clears.
