Im having a strange issue. I drove home from work tonight and parked in the driveway. My wheels did not lock when I put the car in park. The truck acted like it was in neutral. I still have reverse, neutral, and all drive gears. But for some weird reason park is not working properly. I'm not 100% but would a bad viscous clutch do this. any ideas?

Front drive shaft isn't out by chance is it ?? If it is in I would have to guess misadjusted shifter or possible bad v.c. ....

If you still have the stock shifter cable, most likely it's stretched. This happened to me. Try shifting into the lowest gear, then put it back into park and see if it locks.

i'll check the cable. Thank you. if the viscous clutch is out with the all-wheel-drive still work?

UPDATE: today I did something stupid. I opened my door, reached in and started my truck. My truck jumped back and it almost took off in reverse and down my driveway. Lucky for me I had the e-brake on and wheel chucks in place. Ok so back to the problem. I narrowed it down to The shifter was not engaging the transmission into park. So today after climbing underneath the truck I noticed the shift cable bracket that is attached to the transmission pan was missing one of two bolts and the other bolt was halfway out. I replace the bolts and added some lockwashers to keep this from happening again. Thank you guys for your advice. I'm glad that this was a simple fix.
