i have speedpro with wide band. after a little bit of spirited driving last night, my truck developed a problem. the a/f ratio at idle and cruise has gone way lean according to the wideband. i assumed a vacuum leak. i inspected all the hoses...everything looks fine. i havent checked the gaskets yet, but i did spray some carb cleaner around the intake gaskets. i didnt notice any change in rpm. what else could the problem be?
just playing around, i richened up the mixture at idle froma 45%ve to 50%ve. this appears to bring the 02 reading back into 14.7 a/f. however, setting it to 54%ve causes the 02 reading to read 9.5 a/f (richest) i can't figure out why such a small change in ve would cause such an extreme change in a/f. anyone have an idea on what is happening?
if i cant determine what the problem is, my next option is a full tune-up.
