Turbo questions?

I have the original PTE44 prototype turbo and down pipe on my typhoon. I am having some issues of losing 7lbs of boost. I opened up my turbo to find out that there was no o-ring. I bought an o-ring from PTE. I hoping that will cure the boost loss. My real question is Does any body know if PTE is now making a new mount to there 44 system? I'm trying to clock my turbo to make a less restrictive Intercooler pipe, so now i need to rlocate my wastegate mount. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm trying to beat 14 in the 1/4. Which shouldn't be a problem.

sounds like you need to tune your computer. i was running 14.2 w/ 10lbs boost, no intercooler pump and a missing front propshaft w/ a stock turbo

thats cool that it ran 14.2 but that doesn't help me with the wastegate issue

I've got locals in the mid 12s with the same setup... should be no problem at all.

I'd look for split intercooler hoses, too.

Downer of the WG mount is, the darn thing was welded up.

i will look tonight for splits in the intercooler hoses. I just had the motor rebuilt so I could beat all my friends diesels with it but they are getting faster everyday. I agree it should be in the 12's. Does everybody keep the wastegate that precision supplys with the kit or do they go with the external? Also routing now of the intercooler pipe. I've heard that you don't want it bent 90 degrees right off the turbo, correct? I would love to see twelves and I know I have all the right mods done to be there for sure. Maybe you should post some pics or more info about which intercooler you are running. It's hard to know what you are trying to accomplish with your turbo clocking. On my PT51 I just clocked it with the outlet at about 11 o'clock and ran an Autozone radiator hose to the stock IC outlet. Photos on this page .
