i did this once on my other ty like 6 years ago i dont really remember whats involved in changing the starter any ideas or tricks the starter is pulling 320 amps and wont start lol i got a new starter just need to put it in tommorow

It is helpful to drop the Torque Converter Shield Cover, to do that you will need to loosen one end of the Propshaft. You can fit the starter in with TC shield and propshaft, but it is a really tight fit and you have top get the starter wedged up in the right position to slide it in.

Try to get a mini torque starter, there lighter and have gobs of torque. Also a heat shield is alittle insurance..

I was in the same situation a year ago. I bought a cvr pro torque mini starter from jegs and it went right in. The stock beast was kind of a bitch to get out but after that it was smooth sailing.
